PSN Star Trek: D-A-C "this summer"

PC version also still in the works.

Paramount has announced that the PlayStation Network version of its downloadable shooter Star Trek: D-A-C will be released "later this summer".

The Xbox Live Arcade version launched alongside the new Star Trek film in May. We already knew it was due "shortly thereafter" for PS3. The PC version will be available "later this year", according to the press release.

A new ship class, the Support Frigate, and "updated gameplay features" will be added to the PS3 release. New features include variable AI difficulty, customisable goals and host migration.

Normally we would link to our review of the Xbox version here, but it seems we were overcome by a wave of apathy and didn't bother. Sorry about that. Have some screenshots instead.

    I love Star Trek D-A-C, but it is admittedly quite limited. Ripping about in a Bomber is still great fun, but I couldn't recommend it to anyone else. A personal 9/10, but for anyone else probably nearer a 4.

    So will we get the Support Frigate and added "updated gameplay features" on 360, even as DLC? I hope so, it especially needs host migration. Too many games end early because of quiting.

    I like spacegames but don't bother 2 make a pc version because i dont buy converted console games.

    Well as long as you don't want it WeedCloud then they better not make it. There are obviously no users that have only PC's or are interested in buying the usually superior version made for it (by most companies who have the ability to actually convert it to run as a PC game rater than just a shoddy port).

    It looks like it may be worth a try but I'm not holding my breath based on this.

    @DFawkes
    To me it felt like a quick a quick rehash of that Wing Commander XBL game (and the other one I can't remember the name of :) ) - It seemed ot be the same game with a Star Trek theme?

    Though for some reason, I'm quite pleased there are actually people who dug it.
