28 February, 2007

Sony has confirmed release dates for the first seven titles to appear on the PlayStation Network.

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection kicks will be released on 23rd March for GBP 6.99, with Blast Factor (GBP 3.49) and Gran Turismo HD (free) also available on the PAL launch day.

Super Rub-A-Dub follows on March 30th, while April's PSN slate currently has flOw down for 6th April, with Go! Sudoku (13th April) and Go! Puzzle (20th April) to follow.

Prices for these titles have yet to be revealed, but it's expected to be at the lower end of Sony's pricing strategy. Other titles expected in the near future include Lemmings, Gripshift and Calling All Cars.

More news soon.

HOLY SHIT TEKKEN DR FOR £6.99!!! o_O

/rubs eyes in disbelief.

I thought Sony would charge more I certainly wouldn't complain paying between £10 - £13 because of it's status.

Don't be silly, they're counting on people buying the console before they let the scat out the bag.

That is a bargain for Tekken:DR, especially in comparison with prices for some games on XBLA and Virtual Console.

Be interesting to see how they price Mortal Kombat 2 on PSN in comparison to the 800 points on XBLA.

graet pricing stratergy, just a bit of a shame the software is being intentionally strung out, when some of those titles have been avaiable overseas for 3 months now.

Why not just stick them all on there day 1?

A bit cheaper then - hopefully now that all three game download channels are in place, we might see some price competition.

I seriously doubt it. Would be nice though. What I miss is a bargain bin section, GWRE for 2 quid anyone?

I'd probably get a collection of the retro titles for 400 points, as it stands now tho, individually its taking the mick a bit.

Especially when you consider, for the combined price of Paperboy and Pacman, you can now get Tekken 5 plus have some leftover change.

That a full game of Tekken? Not charging for demos are they?

Which makes me wonder why journos feel should write GT HD Demo with (FREE). Its a friggin one course, no competitors demo ffs.

Blast Factor sucks btw guys. A poor man's Mutant Storm.

Great value for Tekken though, but keep in mind that these are just 'introductory prices', they will go up - that's how it worked in the US.

Why indeed. Maybe the sarcasm in my original comment wasn't very obvious.

Anyway, Sony have got a lot wrong but at least they're not charging over the odds for the software, which many people claimed they would do. Still not worth the initial outlay though, so I won't be buying :P

Gripshift, Flow, Tekken & Gran Turismo HD

These looks better than the actual PS3 line up! Well done Sony. It really looks like they're backing up what they said about challenging Microsoft in the online sector.

What do you mean the PS3 line-up? These are PS3 games. Just downloadable ones.

Looking good though, if you ever get bored of boxed games, you can always download one of these to keep you busy.

Hmm, I must admit that I find the PSN games far more interesting and varied than the Xbox Live Arcade ones, which seem to consist mostly of crusty 20 year-old arcade ports seperated by the odd, rare classic like Geometry Wars, Mutant Storm, Lumines Live and Doom.

I mean Tekken Dark Resurrection for the quite frankly disgustingly low price of £7 and Gran Turismo HD for *free*? Those two together are probably better than anything on XBLA bar Geometry Wars.

Wow, roll on 23rd March!
