PS3 outsells Wii during March in Japan News

Yakuza 3 and Resident Evil 5 helped the PlayStation 3 outsell the Wii in Japan during March for the first time in 16 months.

Sony's flagship console notched up 146,948 sales while Nintendo's premier platform managed 99,335 sales, according to Enterbrain figures posted on Reuters. Behind, but not embarrassingly so, was Microsoft's Xbox 360 with 43,172 sales.

The aforementioned games - Yakuza 3 and Resident Evil 5 - take home first and second place, respectively, in the software stakes. The other key titles are not disclosed.

Whether PS3 can maintain momentum without key releases remains to be seen, although KOEI's Warriors Orochi Z picked up the slack last week.

I suspect they will stay toe to toe for the next few months..no major announced releases on either machine in Japan.
Well... maybe Monster Hunter G on Wii..but the general feeling I've seen on Japanese boards is that fans won't buy it due to the online fee and fact it's not on the PSP/PS3.

The Monster Hunter franchise will always sell in Japan, whether it has online fees or not. The sales of the Wii will pick up when Monster Hunter 3 and Wii Sports Resort are released during these next few months.

Total monthly sales for ps3 in japan is 20% of what the wii sells in america in a month perspective of japan sales is needed, its a small market these days

Console wars don't mattter if you own them all - save up your pocket money and get all three then the trolling and fanboy rants will go away, and Farticus will dissapear up his own arse at last. There really are good exclusives on all of them - honest.
