The PlayStation 3 has surpassed 3 million sales in Japan, finishing as the best-selling console for another week.
But a re-energised Wii and 360 are also doing well. Microsoft's platform is at 993,015 lifetime sales for Japan, by the way, and should pass 1 million next week.
Game of the week, according to Media Create data (on NeoGAF), is BASARA Battle Heroes on PSP. "Did you mean to search for BASRA Battle Heroes?" asks Google. No: this is apparently part of Capcom's Devil Kings series.
And just 86,000 sales is enough to lead the list, especially as fellow newcomer Muramasa: The Demon Blade shifted just 29,000 copies to finish at two. That Wii game is out here next spring courtesy of Rising Star Games. We've written our hands-on impressions of Muramasa: The Demon Blade already - Oli was quite taken with it.
Other than a PS2 sequel to Arcana Hearts and Wii Fit just managing to stay relevant at 10 again, there's little else of note.
DS games filled 21 of the top 50 slots, while PSP and Wii games filled nine places each. PS3 games took six spots and games for PS2 filled five slots. Xbox 360 games are nowhere to be seen.

That's pretty good figures for the 360 - only a third behind the PS3 is actually very decent for the machine. Still, with no 360 games in the charts, what the hell are they all playing?

lol EG are proper smegheads when it comes to getting 1 million mixed up with 3 millions yea because thats well hard to do these days it would have never been a cock up if this had been MS related.
i expect the goverment to mess up data and reports i expect 5 year old's to struggle with maths,but i dont expect a "serious" gaming site to mess up gaming news and data on the video gaming industry it's pretty much what your paid for right ? then again with every headline about sony or PS3 being nice and the underline bit somehow relating to xbox doing something a tad better i see how and where your getting your money from these days. stick your head any further up bill gates ass and chances are your'll see the light coming in threw his mouth |

Funny about the typo and a simple maths error but belately corrected, but the age of the internet mean more people corrects their mistakes after placing on web and devs releasing patches to fix bugs after the game went on same.
Yes 1 Million (almost or met) for X360 being only a third behind 3 Million for PS3 may be the story, but to me what is the real story is a generation before Sony had PS2 at 100 times or so Xbox and now, seem unlikely would gain the same level of dominance they once had? A great part of it is down to Nintendo as to how they changed the Japan's consumer peception of Nintendo and by extension Sony and other rival's consoles. Still PS3 is gaining ground at present and we ll see what the next couple of years will bring for all manufactuers in the land of the Rising Sun. |

Didnt 360 already reach 1 million... which they reported themselves back in march, infact in the same article it was said PS3 reached 3 million, this just feels like you are recycling old news.

I just find people so eager to be like that, sort of pathetic in truth, the day EG starts acting like some of you complaining PS3 doesnt get enough love, is the day a good chunk of their readers will go missing, theyd only be left with PS3 fanboys then. *shudders*) Edit: Btw anyone even for second doubting they have been far softer than Sony than MS this gen is lying to themselves... you just simply cannot face the facts. If anything EG changed for the better after their poor display for the run up into this gen, they are more balanced than theyve ever been but sometimes bizarrely inconsistant too(quality wise) and it does seem standards have been slipping... get rid of one problem and another takes its place.
