This game looks excessively violent, although very chaotic too (with a lot going on in-screen) judging by the latest vids. Let's hope they balance the game properly.

Prototype's not going to outsell GTA IV, but then neither would a game about Jade Raymond lezzing up with Jessica Alba and Jet out of Gladiators.

It would if the special edition included kleenex.

What's the release date for this game, anyways? EG says summer in all the previews / news stories so far but everywhere else has Autumn listed - or is one of those stupid financial quarter things.

I've been liking the look of this one for months now, massive development fuck ups between now and release excluded, it'll be a definite buy for me.
Story sounds rediculous, but the action and parkour elements look fannytastic.
Bit let down by there only being 10hrs core gameplay though, from past experience, when developers say that, I can usually knock 2 hrs off that expected completion time.

Actually, this does look pretty good. I'm quite pleased they've decided to focus on the single player game because hopefully they can really polish that experience rather than spending effort on something many people who buy this will never play.

This will be a vastly better game than GTAIV. Because it'll be fun, not mind numbingly boring.

I agree, 10 hours sounds great to me, if they're 10 good hours. I'm a bit put off by 40 hour+ epics, because even though I'd like to play them, I simply cannot commit that amount of time to a video game anymore.

I dunno, the 10-hours bit makes this look more like a rental than a purchase -- I'll probably get myself a three-day rental Friday night and spend a lazy weekend playin' Prototype.

I have heard rumours that Prototype will contain features that will allow you to both pause the game and "save" your progress so you can come back to it at a later date. I'm hoping this will take off and the rest of the industry will follow suit.

I dunno, I just can't see this being all that great. Radical Entertainment don't exactly have the highest quality back catalogue, with most titles residing firmly within the "mediocre" range.

Hope I'm wrong though.

I also suspect that Infamous is going to overshadow Prototype, platform exclusivity notwithstanding.
