Please have more gameplay than Assassin's Creed.

Looks the bomb, by the way. Just don't forget gameplay this time.

I have to admit I find the character vs background difference in art direction/render a bit distracting, but as long as it plays smoothly as its predecessors I don't really care :)

Probably mostly mock-ups and concept art but still amazing. Games companies (with the help of EG) really now how to get my anticipation juices flowing. My new most wanted game, the game ASSassins Creed should have been perhaps?

Also is just me, or does the love interest look strikingly like Natalie Portman? (more than fine by me)

Yep, definitely Natalie Porman-esque. I wonder if this is a hint she'll be in the film with Jake.

I hope there's less fighting than Sands of Time. I love the jumpy bits in the PoP games but hate the combat.

Great shots, can't wait. No Natalie Portman won't be in the film, and also this game is not PoP4. It's PoP1 again presumably.

Kinda generic face though innit, looks like any of the other renders of female characters from Final Fantasy or Capcom Art Works.

Why are the faces mangafied? There's no need for that.

First picture is a man, jawline, stubble and decidedly huge un-girly eyebrows >.< Just looks like a FF stlye effeminate anti-hero who wants to destroy the world while sleeping with their mother and indulging in a bit of 'if I cut myself will people take notice' shenanigans.

I've always liked games that utilise cell-shading...I loved the look of XIII when it was released especially (sound effects written on-screen...awesome), but this looks really nice. As written previously - let's hope this game adds effective gameplay and not just fancy graphics.

Also this art-style reminds me of some of the Sinister Dexter comic strips that started in 2000AD at the end of the '90s, and that's not a bad thing.

I am not sure, some of those shots are definately concept art, you can see the brush strokes. But with others, its a little hard to tell, the shot with him clawing onto the wall while falling down some kind of shaft looks rendered.

The fact that its hard to tell between concept art and in game rendering is....next-gen! or, current gen.

I am really glad they are going with the cell shaded stylised look. I want escapism in my games, not gritty gray realism.

Whats with everyone calling that rendered female face manly? I cant see it.

The sad thing is the trailer shows absolutly NOTHING of any of this, instead they went for the most generic looking CG trailer with an equally generic voice over. Completly side stepping the entire art style.

Cel shading does not equal Manga or any other Japanese style necessarily. This looks much more like western comic book art. A very nice western comic book at that; I can imagine this looking glorious in motion. Also, that woman is indeed very pretty, but about as Persian-looking as Natalie Portman, and he's hardly any better.

Not a single one of them is concept or mock-up.... you can tell a mile away that they're in-engine screenshots.

MrXBob - the close up portraits are definitely concept. The combat and long range shots look in game.

I agree with JonFE: the mix of realisticish backgrounds and cartoony figures looks strange. Hopefully it works in action, but as screenies, it takes away the "contact" between person and environment, and the lighting doesn't match - looks like old skool blue screen special effects.

Meh, bit of a comedown after the graphically beautiful Assassins Creed IMO.

But still, I'm a huge POP fan so willing to give it a whirl.

The gallery I viewed this morning here only showed 8 or 9 screenshots - checking the full gallery know shows obvious concept art. These werent in the original link from the article.
