Premiership football headed to Go!View

Games shrunk into 45-minute PSP clips.

Subscribers to Go!View, the video on-demand service for PSP, will be treated to Barclays Premier League football this week.

Starting on Sunday, Sky Sports games will be crunched into downloadable 45-minute clips showing the best of the action. Highlights of the season Arsenal will win will be available as and when there actually are any.

Go!View Sports subscribers will get the content for free, plus access to other sports such as golf, boxing, tennis, cricket and more.

The Go!View partnership with Sky Sports is non-exclusive, which means broadcasters such as Setanta and BBC or ITV could offer up their coverage at a later date.

Go!View subscriptions cost GBP 5 (EUR 7) for one package, GBP 8 (EUR 11) for two packages, and GBP 10 (EUR 14) for all three. Newcomers will also get one month free.

I can't help but feel that GO!View will not be a huge success. I mean, anyone can prepare their own psp videos so easily that charging for content just seems a bit futile.

That said, I am usually wrong about everything, as my girlfriend will attest.

You can't prepare your own Premiership coverage though can you? Even if you subscribe to Sky it'd be difficult to get it onto your PSP no?

If you could easily download videos from any hotspot, it would be a hit, I think.
But needing a PC, and playing around with ZIP files?... Might as well encode on my own then :p

Well, I took out a trial with GoView, downloaded some vids and then found that due to a technical error, they would not transfer to my PSP. I'm not sure why this was, as my PSP was brand new and running the latest official firmware. Unfortunately, GoView customer services couldn't be bothered to get back to me with any sort of explanation or help for 2 weeks, despite sending them 3 emails, which was pretty piss poor service in my opinion, therefore I quit my subscription and won't be taking one out in the future. so, verdict based on my personal experience - GoView = UTTER SHITE!

Liverpool will win the Prem before Arsenal do again :p (so that's never then LOL) hehe

    A) Arsenal winning the title? Provocative, Mr. Purchese, but I certainly hope so. And Theo to take the Golden Boot, just to add fuel to the fire. ;)

    B) Go!View a big bag of expensive pointless crapola? Definitely.

    Yes! Somebody else believes! Huzzah!

Good to see somebody counter-balancing EG's strong pro-Liverpool bent. People's Champion Peter Crouch indeed. Oh well, there's always people's champion... er, Dirk Kuyt?

angerisagift - Your query was probably just overlooked by one of the teams and you slipped through the net.

Your actually issue is to do with your memory stick. Either it is not Sony branded, or it is a hooky Sony stick. You can tell by checking the status of your stick and seeing if the Magicgate status is 'Supported' or 'Unknown'. Chances are it'll be Unknown. If this is the case and it is Sony branded, then contact Sony directly, or return the stick to the retailer and tell them it doesn't work in your Sony branded product; ask for a replacement.

If it isn't Sony branded, then you can't use it with the service.
