Pokemon Pearl/Diamond dated

US in April, Europe in summer.

A spokesperson for Nintendo has told Eurogamer that DS titles Pokemon Diamond and Pokemon Pearl will be available in Europe in either "June or July - after Pokemon Ranger".

The comment comes after announcements that the two gems will be released across the US on 22nd April, featuring a unique "Manaphy" Pokemon, which is unlockable from Pokemon Ranger once you complete its story mode.

Simply pop in your "Manaphy Egg Code" that you receive and your egg will now hatch in your Pearl/Diamond game. It sounds as though it could well be worth the effort, with the elusive critter has touting a "Heart Swap" move that allows it to swap healing effects with other Pokemon.

Pokemon Pearl and Diamond are shaping up to be very worthwhile experiences, as our recent preview shows. With a refined battle system, less gimicky features, good touch-screen implementation and balls full of Pokemon, it could be just what we're looking for.

Meanwhile you should keep an eye out for Pokemon Ranger when it pops up on European shelves on 30th March.

I lost track of Pokemon with leafy Green which is a Pokemon Blue Remake, or was that the Pokemon green that never got released in Europe.

Pokemon Gold and Silver was good because it had the pokemon Red/Blue areas in the same game, sadly pokemon Ruby and Saphire never did that Backwards compatible thing and that made me sad.

Then i seemed to have lost the plot when it came to Pokemon.... Emerald was that the equivalent of the Pokemon Yellow and Crystal respective to Ruby and Sapphire.
Or was that a Pokemon Emerald based in a seperate region?

    Ugh!! @_@

They're still making Pokemon games? How quaint.

You're only saying that because Pokemon sells about twenty billion.

Heh, and there is me, never having seriously played any Pokemon game... is it time to start? Those two have the journos excited and the fanboys raving. Usually not a good sign. :)

It's never a good time to start Pokemon unless you know shit about the Pokemon in general.

That's not to say you NEED to have watched Pokemon cartoons etc just gets confusing with strengths and weaknesses of the certain critters and their types Yu-Gi-Oh style.

Haven't played Pokemon since Red/Blue. Might give this a spin.

Yeah, I love Pokémon games - Admitedly a lot less than before I 'discovered' Square Enix and PlayStation, but I still can;t wait for Diamond and Pearl.

The "proper" Pokemon games are great gameplay experiences. Kinda like zelda mixed with cock fighting and random battles of FFVII!

If only they'd do a PROPER 3d version (give it the 3d zelda treatment) and it'd rock!!!

I'd REALLY recommend it to anyone who isnt a blinkered anti-nintendo fanboy (as they're gonna hate it regardless). If you like good games, you WILL like them!

And despite the marketting, they're MUCH more than just kids games, i like them and im 31 (and have gotten stuck on a few too!)

PS: From what i hear, pokemon ranger sucks.. so dont bother.
  • smelly #13 5 years ago

Although, i do find it depressing that people are more interested in posting 100's of posts on threads about which console is better in willy waving contests.

But no-one seems that bothered about the games you actually play on said machines.

(unless the reviewer DARES to review the first half decent game your console gets as 8/10 instead of 10/10)

    WTF is Pokemon Ranger?

I agree they should do a proper 3D Pokemon game it pisses me off that Nintendo avoid every ****ing chance to make one even though they've got a phenomenal 2D to 3D conversions past record.

Stop jerking around making Pokemon Stadium or Pokemon Colliseum make a damn Pokemon Blue/Red/Gold/Silver/Ruby/Sapphire in 3D!!!

/goes in corner to cool off.

Hm, so Pokemon for me, then. Smelly, that was so much talking out of my heart, I'll forever hate you if Pokemon does suck in the end. :)

The first Pokemon game I played was fine. My only problem with them is how repetitive the games are, they don't really seem to develop properly, and it really feels like they're just milking the whole thing by constantly adding new pokemon to collect.

...Just waiting for the bastards to make a proper 3D Pokemon game.
