Very good line up....just a little too long to wait for most of it still.

Not looking too shabby at all I reckon.

(edit)
What, a console that's been out for much longer has a longer list of forthcoming titles? I'd never have believed it!

That's quite an impressive lineup for the PS3, definitely not bad at all. It looks like it's finally found its stride.

Good stuff. More reasons to buy a PS3 than a 360, me thinks.

"As one of the few games which seems to be championing Sixaxis controls as a core aspect to the game it will be interesting to see whether Lair will silence or justify the cynicism that it met with upon its original unveiling [early US reviews suggest not - Ed]."

I'd rather you lot formed your own opinions after playing the game...

Looks nice, some good exclusives, some multiplatforms but I don't really see the problem. I'll stick with my 360 for now, but should the PS3 go down in price significantly enough to justify owning 2 consoles I'll be buying one just for heavenly sword.

For a console which had nothing to show expcept Lair and HS I think this is pretty good.

But Singstar, GT Prologue Batman and rally are stretching it a little.

Who the hell is going to buy Eye of... ?

HS looks great, butr if I had a PS3 I would buy R&C. I enjoyed previous titles immensly (excpet for the last one)

They forgot to mention the big downloadable games like Warhawk, SOCOM, Everyday Shooter, Pain and Echochrome. Although I'm not sure any of those have confirmed release dates, I'm hoping we see them all this year.

Very strong list though. Everything on it except Eye of Judgement and Singstar is a possible buy for me, most of them probables.

Plus there's all the mainstay games like Pro Evo and Burnout coming too that I hope will show a genuine step forward for next gen. It's going to be an expensive few months!

And the 360's 'upcoming' list this time last year was fuck loads better as well (well, if you liked shooters....).

edit: Plus at that time, there were also a lot more decent games already out.

Uncharted looked pretty decent at E3. Strangely though the developer had the nerve to suggest that other than the main character being a treasure hunter, there were no other simularities to Tomb Raider....

One thing multiple platform owners should consider when deciding whether to buy the Xbox 360 or PS3 version is how much power the machines use. The Xbox 360 uses around 160W compared with the PS3's 280W so if you don't want uber-large electric bills it really does pay to go for the Xbox 360 version. My electric usage has gone up by over 15% since owning the PS3 and there aren't even that many decent games out for it yet. Lord help me when Final Fantasy XIII or White Knight Story are released, I'll have to take out a second mortgage or something! LOL

P.S. I'm being serious by the way!

These "Most Wanted" lists per platform only really work with exclusives. Games like Lego Batman and Call Of Duty 4 will be out on the 360 and as such for people who havent yet invested in a next gen console can be played for £200 less than the PS3 version. I also think it's quite telling that a portion of the PS3 2007 most wanted list wont actually see release here in 2007 at all eg GT5.

Still poor in my view. Really only 2 games I like the look of that are exclusive which are Heavanly sword and Lair. Anything else on the list is either multi platform or meh.

Less multi-platform games (including Haze and UT as they are multi even if not til early next year) and likely 2008 slippages we are left with;

Lair - which has been getting mediocre reviews so far
Heavenly Sword - demo has got mixed reactions, still an unkown quantity
Ratchet & Clank - potentially good
Uncharted - potentially good
Singstar - not really a gamers game...sold thousands of PS2s but then that console is £300 cheaper than PS3.
Eye Of Judgement - card game? again, not really a gamers title.

And that's it. Up against the MS exclusives of Bioshock, Halo 3, Mass Effect and PGR4

Regarding electricity bills, mine have been utterly ridiculous of late. But that's partly my own stupid fault for not bothering to unplug stuff from the wall when I'm not using them.

Think about it:
PS3
360
Wii
Xbox
PS2
TV box
Wireless router
Cable modem
Amp
Various chargers -phone, DS, PSP, laptop etc
PC
Turntable
Media server
Cordless phone

Gawd knows how much wastage there is from leaving them all plugged in on standby....

Come on guys, stop it. Even as die-hard Xbox 360 fan, there are at least half a dozen titles I look forward to. My personal top 5:
-Uncharted
-GT5 Prologue
-Heavenly Sword
-Haze
-Lair
-Eye Of Judgment (I'm an old Magic head, me)
Depending on whether they're any good or not, obviously.
Add to that a few cross-platform titles that I may get on 360 or PS3 depending on which is the better version.

9 PS3 exclusives on there for 2007. Hardly "mostly multiformat".

Also, the remainder are simultaneous releases, rather than sloppy second ports, which has been the story of the PS3 to date.

Well lets see, EG talks about 27 games, of which 9 are PS3 exclusive (33.3%) and the rest are multi platform. I'd call that 'mostly multiformat'.

I just found it a bit odd that the article starts off with 'and not all of them are 360 sloppy seconds' and then lists 18 games that clearly are:)

"Come on guys, stop it."

That would imply the people you're addressing being capable of reasoning...

If people feel better about themselves for supporting one console brand over the other, and want others to know how good and cool, etc. their favourite machine is and how shit the opposition, let them. Except for a lot of poorly written and logically inconsistent posts, it’ll do little damage. Who knows, if these kids couldn’t let off steam in this way, they might do something worse, like vandalise your neighbourhood…

Better than I expected... although probably not better than the 360's lineup imo, and certainly not worth the asking price of the console.

From a personal point of view, I'm certainly looking forward to Heavenly Sword, Ratchet, Drake's and Haze out of the 'exclusives'. Singstar should be ace too, and I'm always fond of a bit of UT. I'll be getting review dibs on most of those :)

As for the multiformat stuff, admittedly I'd rather play some of them on 360 (controller preference, vibration, achievement points whoreage), but add HL2 Ep 2, Assassin's Creed, CoD IV, Rock Band, Kane & Lynch, The Club, Stranglehold, and it's not exactly a bad way to end the year for the PS3.
