Play Tomb Raider: Legend for free
When you help to test AWOMO.
The people in charge of digital distribution platform AWOMO are offering you the chance to play Tomb Raider: Legend for free.
All you have to do is visit AWOMO.com and take part in the public beta. Tomb Raider: Legend will be available to play free of charge for one month from today.
AWOMO is designed to let you download PC games in minutes rather than hours, via a web browser. You can start playing while games are still downloading, too.
"With Tomb Raider: Legend, a 7.2GB game, we can demonstrate that players on an 8 Megabit line can be playing the game within 11 minutes," said exec type Roger Walkden. That's "a staggering 11 times the speed of competing services and twice as fast as our previous beta test game", apparently.
Tomb Raider: Legend was released in 2006 and scored a highly respectable 7/10 here on Eurogamer. Read Kristan's review for the full lowdown.

Also of note is that as a European you can't even pay Gametap for their service (US-only), yet still get the free games.
Generally, I still prefer boxes, these services are more like renting games.
