Play Mario Kart before release at GAME

Win a car and other prizes.

GAME is giving you a chance to compete in a Mario Kart Wii Tournament a week before the game launches.

Regional heats will be held in stores across the country from 5th April. Prizes on offer include GBP 250 worth of "experience vouchers" to spend on activities like paintballing, quad biking and karting.

Copies of the game will also be given away, as will store vouchers.

Winners of the heats will go into a finale on 12th April, where the star prize will be a Mario Kart VW Beetle Convertible.

Mario Kart Wii is due out at the end of next week and is well worth the money. Pop over to our review to find out why.

Hi. I'm from Northern Ireland and hence am a second-class citizen.

Not that I'm particularily sure I want a Mario Kart VW Beetle Convertible. Owning that is kinda like making that big lifestyle choice.

While I am sure that this is really exciting news for the handful of people that are really excited about this game and want to play it before anybody else, as well as those people who are still not gainfully employed and have all day to hang around video game shops playing games, I really cannot be bothered to wait in line in a bloody Game shop to play a game that I can play at home a day later.

The promise of vouchers, free cars or anything else that want to offer to pursuade people to come to their godawful, over priced, retail outlet is not enough. You can see the marketing people at Game coming up with this idea in a bid to get people to actually purchase games from them once again when the majority of people know full well that if they do buy from Game they get ripped off more often than not.

Game, listen up. You are crap and you should rot in retail hell.

I'll join the sensible Geordies in going to the usually 5 quid cheaper Grainger Games and BUYING IT whilst this is going on... :)

"Mario Kart Wii is due out at the end of next week"

Woohoo i'll get to play before the 'play before release' tourny.

I don't think you'll be able to buy this whilst this is going on?
it's not out until Fri 11th.
    Unless I'm missing something?

Anyway, I will also be giving this spectacle a miss.
I do however have fri 11th off work, so will be off to the shops first thing :)

    Mario Kart= yay
    Game = Not yay

Honestly, for such a massive, all-consuming retail chain, you'd expect Game to be at least slightly, y'know, good; instead, we get overinflated prices, an awful selection of products and a soul-sappingly insipid purple and grey interior decor. That they've taken control of the once-admirable Gamestation is truly saddening; looks like it's the lesser-spotted but resoundingly kickass Chips for me all the way, now...

I also thought it was out on the 11th, not next Fri.

The game will pull avatars from your console to be obstacles as well. Make sure to trick out your Wii steering wheel with the grips and stickers if you are getting together with friends.
