Plants vs. Zombies heading to XBLA

Er, branching out? Sorry.

PopCap's excellent PC game Plants vs. Zombies is on its way to Xbox Live Arcade, the developer reportedly confirmed at the Casual Connect conference this week.

WorthPlaying reports that PopCap's Garth Chouteau confirmed the plan, although he didn't add any further details about features, dates or owt.

Plants vs. Zombies is a mixture of tower defence and strategy in which players deploy various plants to prevent zombies crossing a lawn and reaching a house.

As the action intensifies, there are loads of new units to contend with, plus changing terrain (well, swimming pools) and night-time battles.

Check out our Plants vs. Zombies review to find out why we love it so.

Thought this was confirmed ages ago? Either way, it's a must have purchase!

    Yay!

A real good fun, the game is of course another variation of tower defence game but it was done in a fun way and visually nice. I didnt know that it was coming to X360, so its going to be a great addition to XBL library.

I only completed the PC version this week. Great game but I might wait for the iPhone version unless they offer loads of achievements.

Part me wonders if this will work as well as it does on a PC, with a mouse you can grab the sun drops quickly and slam down Wallnuts etc rapidly when your in the thick of it. Well maybe their working on that and they have a solution, raidial context menus or something
  • mingster #5 3 years ago

its gonna be tricky without a mouse definately

had this on PC and finished it. It's an ok game but, it wasn't amazing. In fact later on it becomes quite repetitive and the zen garden is pointless.

I guess the price will determine whether this is worth the wait.

This was one of my favourite games of 2009.

Bags of character, nice upgrade/shop system and a perfect example of a 'just-one-more-go' game.

Like steveb07 says, i'm waiting for the iphone release.

I imagine a lot of people are, actually. It seems like a really obvious fit, that would make a lot of money, so obviously it wont ever happen.

Edit: Apparently it is coming to iphone. Oops. Dunno when though.

    Immense game.

Think it'll be fine on the Xbox pads. It's all based on a grid. Could suffer with some of the minigames though, just the Whack-a-zombie one. That could be tough.

Good little game for 30 mins at a time. Will be fine on a grid system.

The point of the Zen garden is that it is the only way to earn enough money to get your Tree of Knowledge to 100 feet. It costs a bloody fortune to get that achievement. You can earn about 10K per day for sod all other than feeding your snail some chocolate (that's not a euphemism).

Edit - yes, it is boring the first time round. The fun begins on lap #2 when crazy dave picks your plants for you.

completed this on pc.. Highly recommended

    Smelly aproved.
  • Rubarack #12 3 years ago

Honestly I think it will work fine on the 360, all they'll need to do is have a sun vacuum button.
  • DeJay #13 3 years ago

Will probably only need a new/modified plant to catch the sun drops.

Already got this through Steam. I can recommend it to anyone.

    Awesome fun on the PC

Paid 97p for this on PC, loved every second of it. Coop and multiplayer = bought on XBLA!
