Pirates and SPOGS for WiiWare News

News by Robert Purchese

18 July, 2008

Nintendo has popped two more games on its WiiWare service and one of them has pirates in.

This is Pirates: The Key of Dreams, where you take control of a boat and fire cannons at other boats to earn money to upgrade your boat. Up to four of you can play online, in your boats.

The other game is SPOGS Racing, which has a reputation for being a bit rubbish. SPOG means Sports Player Object Gyro, and you race around some courses in a tyre with the middle bit as a picture of your character.

Both games cost 1000 Wii Points (GBP 7.00 / EUR 10.00) and we'll be bringing you our thoughts on them soon.

Pirates looks like Overboard! Nintendo's no demo policy must be doing more harm than good - saw this online this morning but refuse to buy until I see a review!

Pirates! Yarr! Have been waiting for this ever since I played a demo disc that came free with the original Playstation. Or at least, I have if this is anything like Overboard - one of 3 games I regret not buying.
