Pick up Company of Heroes for £2.49
Save 75 per cent on usual Steam price.
Remember Company of Heroes, the 2007 World War II strategy game from THQ? Well, you might like to know it's currently going cheap on Steam.
You can currently pick up the original game, plus follow-ups Tales of Valour and Opposing Fronts, for £2.49 each. That's a 75 per cent saving on the usual price of £9.99 a pop.
Which is a bargain, considering how much we enjoyed COH back in the day - the game scored 10/10 on Eurogamer. Read our review to find out what the big deal was.

Really enjoying it so far although it really doesn't like alt tab on my machine. Sometimes it goes into windowed mode on its own, sometimes it just crashes instantly. If I don't switch to the desktop it runs fine however and is really, really a lot of fun.

Nonstop issues, crashes, cd-key problems, auto-updates, etc. on Steam and at retail...
PC gaming needs to sort out this bullshit if it wants to move forward - otherwise, by the time of the Playstation 5 and the Xbox 4, the PC will be less than 0.00000000000001% of the videogaming market...

Great games that are well worth such a small price.

Paperghost: It used to be like that, but that's only applicable if you get some old retail DVD now. If you get it on Steam it's usually a much smoother process.

The game requires you to redownload the entire game every time it's patched (yes, on Steam as well)...
So, let's say the game is 3gb. A patch is released that is, say, 20mb. You then have to download 3.02gb to update the game (yes, on Steam as well)...
Magic, isn't it?

CoH is still the best RTS in recent history and considering how many hours I've spent in it, I wouldn't say it's buggy or unstable either.

cianchristopher, buggy? What? I've been playing CoH for years and it's been ages since it was buggy.
I've been playing it for ages as well and I've never encountered any bugs either. It suits Cian to claim it is because as we all know console games never ever contain bugs. Perhaps it's your PC rather than "PC gaming" that's at fault, Cian?
Edit: I will say that I was mildly irritated when I bought the gold edition (CoH and the Opposing Fronts expansion) and couldn't add the key to my existing relic account because it already had a key for vanilla CoH in it so I had to create a new account. Just bought Tales of Valour last night at 75% off but haven't installed it yet.

However the game itself is very stable, and once it's all up and running there are very few bugs to speak of. It's also one of my favourite games of the last ten years so I see any hassle as more than worth it

However, don't bother with Tales of Valor - it REALLY is DLC that they decided to put into a retail box. Very short compared to the others (Three levels each set across one map per campaign), so get vanilla and Opposing Fronts and you're set.

At £2.50 I dont think you can complain about the length of Tales Of Valor really.

I was just going to say the same thing, the sound of short campaigns with their focus on a small number of units didn't appeal to me but I'll give it a shot for a couple of quid.

i suck online so i only had one game in the end, lol, maybe if id patched for 7hours i would have played longer as it would have meant more!!!
