Phoenix Wright coming to Wii? News

Wii News by Ellie Gibson

5 November, 2009

Popular law-themed series Phoenix Wright could be on the way to the Wii.

That's according to a listing on USK.de, the website of the German ratings board.

Do a search for "Wright" and you'll see that Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney was submitted for rating on 29th October.

That's all we know - there's nothing about a price or date, or whether this will be a retail or digital release. We'll keep you posted. OBJECTION, etc.

The whole Phoenix Wright trilogy on one game for the Wii with HD graphics?!

One can only hope, but let's wait and see.

@SAMagic: How about something new, specifically designed for the Wii instead? Capcom do enough re-releasing on the Wii as it is.

@Evolution: Exactly, this is Capcom. It would be awesome to get something new, but Phoenix's story has effectively been told in the trilogy. It's "Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney" that has apparently been trademarked, not just "Ace Attorney".

I'd be intrigued at something new for Phoenix, but it would probably be shoe-horned in as the 7 years between Trials and Tribulations and Apollo Justice have a certain plot element to stop him acting as a lawyer. I predict we'll get a port as a test run of the game on the Wii first. Hopefully others will follow.

I'd love a new and original phoenix Wright ace attorney, Apollo Justice wasn't as good, the character, not the game, the game was great. Ain't gonna happen though.

Something of the quality of Harvey Birdman for the Ace Attorney series is well overdue.

That seems very unlikely, given the Wii can't output HD graphics.

Great news if it's a new instalment. Not so great if it's just a Wii version of the DS game(s).

Meh. I think it's a genre better suited to the small screen anyway.

Not that I wouldn't buy a new Phoenix game if it was on Wii though...
