Phoenix Wright 3 misses Xmas News

DS News by Robert Purchese

16 November, 2007

The third instalment in the acclaimed Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney series, Trials and Tribulations, will not be out in time for Christmas.

Distributor Nintendo confirmed the news to Eurogamer, but said it had never mentioned a date so it will retain its TBC status. Well, TBC 2008.

Shame, given that it is the best of the series so far and we were going to include in our list of Christmas DS games to buy.

Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations is an adventure game with unusual court room battles. You play as Phoenix Wright and go around exploring crime scenes with the help of some psychic friends, gathering ammunition to win your case in court.

We had a chance to get to grips with it earlier in the year and called it one of the funniest games you'll ever play. If you have never played a Phoenix Wright adventure, then you should definitely consider picking this up, and if you have - well, it is more of the same only better.

Pop over to our Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations review to find out more.

Bum, that's a shame I was looking at this to go with Bioshock, Mario Galaxy and Endless Ocean for my winter gaming selection.

Would've imported but, as much as love the PW games, they usually go straight for trade-in when I'm done as they aren't really replayable.

OBJECTION

(someone had to)

I actually preferred the previous one in the series, there were a fair few leaps of logical faith in this one that stumped me

What a surprise that is. NOTSKI! Nintendo Europe are a joke and I will just import this. HA HA who is laughing now eh?

I have a dream that one day Europe will be treated just as well as the Clinically obese ignorant fat bastard yanks. That is my dream. And why not? Silent Hill Origins is out today in Europe.

That's really bad advice! If you've never played a Phoenix Wright Adventure then you should pick up the first game and enjoy all 3 in sequence - the games are pretty much identical apart from the plot but the first benefits from that bonus DS specific 5th case.

I've had mine since August. The game yelled "import me!" continuously. I couldn't object.

Not really interested in this - the first PW was fun enough while it lasted, but I was glad when it was over. The whole thing got terribly repetitive and frustratingly long-winded in the end.

Exactly.. But after having bled my fingers thanks to Contra4 and the long wait for Ninja Daisen I think I might try the 3rd part just for kicks.

Why the heck doesn't Kojima make a new Snatcher-type game for the DS? It'll almost be a guaranteed success this time around.
