Phantasy Star Portable gets new DLC News

PSP News by Ellie Gibson

19 January, 2009

SEGA has released new downloadable content for PSP exclusive Phantasy Star Portable.

As reported by videogaming247, it introduces a brand new multiplayer mode titled Nazokaimei Mission - Mystery Unfolded Mission. Your job is to cure the Guardian's virtual reality training program of a strange virus, apparently.

The DLC is now available from the SEGA Japan website, but good luck if you don't understand Japanese.

Phantasy Star Portable sees you teaming up with new character Vivienne and up to three other players. There are more than 150 new weapons, along with three class types and four races. The game is out now in Japan and on 24th March in the US, with a European release to follow this spring.

So they get expansions before we even get the game? I could almost accept us getting it once it's translated into English, on the US date, but I'm not bothering with it if they can't be bothered to release it.

They've had several downloadable missions already so far. There seem to be nine others, some of which seem to be multiplayer only. Maybe some of them will be available following US release. I'm mostly looking forward to playing some Phantasy Star Universe while in the pub.
