PGR4 demo in certification News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

13 September, 2007

The Project Gotham Racing 4 demo is done and currently worming its way through Microsoft's certification process.

Speaking at a press event at Bizarre Creations' offices in Liverpool, the developer said the demo would be released around the same time as the game - in their words, "it's just waiting for a slot".

In terms of its content, we'll be taking a look a bit later, but it's quite substantial, with Nurburgring and a few Arcade mode chapters amongst the treats in store.

File-size and exact download date are still to be confirmed, so keep your eyes on Bizarre's website for more details.

And yes, Nurburgring does look absolutely sick when it's covered in snow. Yay!

PGR4 is due out exclusively on Xbox 360 on 12th October.

Yeah, can't wait either. I will kill someone though if they decide to only put in motorbikes again like they did with the E3 demo.

Wonder if they put an official 'last man standing' mode in this one eh? That was pretty much all that was going on in the matches I got into online... but it was fun, would be good to see it done properly.

Hmm, Burnout has been getting progressively more rubbish IMO.

At least Burnout adds a bit of fun to the concept of driving a vehicle round and round and round and round. No matter how much HDR, AA and other shinyness they throw in, PGR4 is just another racing game. Ditto GT5.

I miss my 360 :-(

Still, according to the tracker it's been repaired so should have a few months gaming ahead before it goes bang again!

Since moving onto Forza I find it hard to go back to PGR. I hope they get back to the career climbing single player modes of old.

Ahh, fuck. I suspect PGR4 will be pretty much like CoD4 to me: Before the demo/beta I was casually looking forward to it though always suspecting that it would turn out fucking great, and when the demo hits/ and it actually is bloody amazing I won't be able to stop thinking about it until it comes out. :(

"waiting for a slot" - they do themselves no favours if the demo (which I remind you is now complete!) isn't released before retail code hits stores. Build the anticipation people - hit those opening weekend targets by boosting pre-orders

I agree to a point smurphs but you have to remember Forza is a racing sim, PGR is pure arcade racing! Personally I'll have both!

Krudster,

THIS is how demos should be done.

Did Bizarre post trailers of this game on XBL over the last couple of months?

Never mind a dodgy demo of an unfinished game full of choppy, tearing, stuttering nonsense! I expect a demo of a 1st class GOLD game.
