Peter Crouch Achievement in FIFA Street News

Xbox 360 News by Tom Bramwell

14 February, 2008

People's Hero Peter Crouch is a benevolent sort, so when EA asked him if he wanted to be in FIFA Street 3 looking like a Barbie doll that's been in a microwave for 8 minutes, he had no problem with that. However, it turns out that EA has honoured his sacrifice with a specific Peter Crouch Achievement on Xbox 360.

This isn't news exactly - the Achievement list for FIFA Street 3 has been public knowledge for a while - but it felt like such a massive cultural event that we could not let it pass by without acknowledgement.

"Hat Trick Hero" is the Achievement, which involves scoring a hat-trick with Crouch in any game mode except Practice. Sadly this does mean that you can cheat and just pick him in the England team in one of the head-to-head modes, rather than scoring 20 Gamebreaker goals to unlock his "Team C", but we like to think people will honour the People's Hero by putting in the requisite time anyway.

After all, Crouch himself had to put in his time at rubbish clubs like Dan-who-puts-the-screenshots-up's Aston Villa before he was able to realise his full potential by spectacularly almost qualifying England for Euro 2008.

For additional Crouchigols, YouTube is your friend. FIFA Street 3 is out on PS3, 360 and DS next Friday, with a review going up soon.

Peter Crouch is average at best. Nothing more than a substitute.

In a world where Titus Bramble exists, Crouch has got light years to travel before he even gets to "below average", never mind "one of the worst".

In any event, he's clearly brilliant.

He's 10 ft 10, get a player who can cross the ball (Beckham for example not Lennon) and it's free goals for tea

Sean Dundee was worse, so was Winston Bogarde

Nicholas Anelka one of the best strikers out there, scored 5 goals in 21 games for the club, when you have to play with spastics like Gerrard who would rather do another backpass to Thierry Henry to slot free goals than pass to you you've gotta feel for him (cough Ok Gerrard is half decent)

He should be rubbish, but he just keeps scoring, i'd rather have him on my side, than have him against us.

I always cheer him on, he just seems to always be in the right place for a tap in, when other players who people think are better, aren't, i don't think people give him credit for his positioning, even if his finishing isn't anything special.

I think the problem most people have with him is that he can't actually head the ball!

I think he's a decent player though, good finish, good technique and good positioning. He scores goals aswell, you can't ask for much more from a striker than that.

You know, what football games need these days is Mortal-Kombat-Fatalities-style goal celebrations, where you have a second or two after a goal to input some button-code, and then your players do something interesting to celebrate the goal.

QPR Legend, our last decent youth team player. Best striker in the prem. Never gives up, never cant be arsed always gets vital goals.

When he left and we were struggling he gave us money much like Lee Cook who donated 250k. As soon as we hit the Prem (season after next) I hope we bring them both home. We can certainly afford it.

"Gigi De Canio, Bernie and Flavio" come on u r's!!!

Do you know anything about football other than your team?
Benitez doesn't start Crouch, he doesn't like to play him, and when he does it is in small games where the delivery from midfield is lacking in Liverpools (crap) second string.

Only recently has Crouch started playing, he still has more to offer!

WHOA THE CROUCH!!!!

@Liohneart - Dunno if I know much about football or not. Its all opinion isnt it? I have seen Crouch on a number of occasions this season and last and I'm afraid he is poor at best. He is an awkward prospect to deal with I give you that but thats it. If he doesnt get his own way he moans and complains and although his touch is generally good he doesnt seem to be able to do much with it.

Benitez is a great manager is he not? And he doesnt like to start him. Says it all really.

He's started about 2 games. Benitez seems to think that goal machine Kuyt is a better option. lolzorz.

Considering hwo tall he is, he's one of the rost header in the Premier league. He scores most of his goal with his feet, which is quite something considering what a gangly pair of legs he has.But yeah, he's completly shit though seems to pop up once in a blue moon with a wonder goal....which doesn't really make up for the 50 sitters he missed before.
