From the demo I played, Penumbra is not a FPS, although it is played from a first person viewpoint. The magic in Penumbra is in observation and being aware of your surroundings, as said, direct combat usually ends up with you losing. But from what I could see, there are plenty of hazards to use to your advantage.

The game did need some polish, but I could see that it was far from finished, so I am very hopeful here for a rather decent little puzzle adventure title. Been quite a while... my only gripe is that it's yet more Episodic Gaming over three parts, which is going to drive me to despair...
