Peggle to offer charms on DS

PopCap confirms. Joy. Happiness.

PopCap co-founder John Vechey has said Peggle is heading to DS, resulting in random outbursts of love.

He confirmed its existence to PocketGamer at the Casual Connect conference in Amsterdam, and believes it has the potential to be the next Bejeweled. Unfortunately he said nothing else.

Peggle is a cross between Pachinko and Puzzle Bobble and is responsible for feelings of happiness in those succumbing to its charms.

More than 10 million of you around the world have downloaded it, according to figures we have made up.

We decided it was worth 9/10 and believed it to be the 12th best game released last year. High praise indeed.

Pop over to our Peggle review to find out more.

Peggle is also due out on Xbox Live Arcade in the second quarter of 2008.

I hope you can jiggle the DS about to make the ball move slightly differently...

I think Steam made a brilliant move bundling a special lite version in with the Orange Box. Tried it, loved it, bought full version. Forgot about Orange box for a while. Plays on anything .

And as any Peggler knows.... Ode to Joy..... *sigh*

Second only to Portal in truly rewarding gaming.

A version for my DS? Yes please!

I can't play this game, there's all unicorns and fairies and bright flowers and stuff everywhere and after a while my eyes start bleeding.

I played this for the first time the other day. Found it a bit underwhelming, really. I played to the end of the demo and felt no need to purchase the full game.

Course, I'm also dead inside, so that might be part of the problem.

I'm usually a real sucker for casual games, but Peggle just... well, it never hooked me. It just feels like a game of pure luck, since you have no real way of controlling what you're doing half the time. Bejeweled rocked because you needed very fast hand-eye coordination; Peggle merely requires you to have a high sugary-animé-cutesy-restistance and the patience to wait while the ball bounces around.
