Konami gauging interest.

Konami appears to be gauging interest in a PS3 version of PSP game Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker.

Gamepro said publisher reps were quizzing attendees of a recent press event about the allure of Peace Walker on PSN with PS3 online multiplayer. The publisher-people even wrote down answers, apparently.

Kojima Productions already has a new, fully-fledged Metal Gear Solid console game in development in the shape of Metal Gear Solid: Rising.

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker features four-player co-op and will be released in Europe this June.

MGS: Rising has no official date and is unlikely to be released this year, given the amount we've seen and heard so far - i.e. not a lot.

Your loss. Either way, for some reason, I still believe that Rising for all intents and purposes was a practical joke by Kojima; However, it went so well, that he failed to have the guts thus far to admit it. How great of him...!!!

I wonder if we're talking a proper port with pretty graphics and sixaxis boobs - MGS4 style, or a 'HD Res but same assets' type thing like the God of War 1 & 2 rerelease...

This would be a great move in my opinion. I would much rather play the game on the PS3 than my aged PSP with the broken nub.

In fact I don't even know when I last played the PSP... its kinda dead to me now

Day 1! You can also call it Metal Gear Solid 5: Peace Walker now, if you want to.

And while you're at it, port Portable Ops (and call it Stationary Ops ).

If they do it, I can see it being done as a 720p 60fps 3D game, or 1080p 60fps. Also I'd buy it. The PSP demo is very good.

@designerheadache : I belive PSP mini's use a seperate (and very simple) SDK which allowed easier development and emulation on PS3.

I hardly ever play my PSP anymore. I NEVER play commercial games on it, I just don't see the appeal in the vast majority of releases. I just use it as a portable emulation station. So having this game on a platform that I'll actually play would be good. However, I'll only buy it if Sony reinstate OtherOS or somebody makes a CFW that can get onto PSN.

Kojima? This should have ALWAYS been a PS3 release. Surely 5 million sales of MGS4 on a console which has the smallest install base should have told you something. We fucking love it, and home consoles is the only way to enjoy it.

If it's true, then it's great, great news.
I'm a huge MGS fan, but I have no interest whatsoever in buying a PSP (I've never been into portables), so this would make me very happy indeed. And if they could do the same with Portable Ops, even better!
