That video is great, if mildly painful.

"Sacred 2 dominated headlines recently for securing the vocal talents of Eurogamer staff writer Rob Purchese"

Just that sentence brightened up my morning.

If you guys could get a release date for the 360 version out of the bloody publisher that would be great, I want to know whether to cancel my pre-order or not.

Yes, just tried it for a bit.

Well, first off, I didn't play Sacred 1, so I have no clue of its universe and setting, but the setting in this one is ridiculous. For instance, the heroine I played ran about in high heels, masquerade mask and a pair of double Ds. Also, the voice acting is not the best, and the same goes for the UI.

On a brighter note, it does look fine, and it plays decent - well, for the amount of time I tested it anyways. It's not hard to imagine this as a pretty good Diablo-clone had the setting and art been a bit serious. So if that sounds anything like Sacred 1, you lot'll probably love it; as for me, I've already written it off as a bit of a missed opportunity.

What strikes me about it is that it feels like a low budget title in a way, but not in the way that ordinary is the case with that type of product. Usually, what's missing in a low budget game is tech and polish, but in this one the tech is just fine and the polish is not miles off, but what's really striking about it instead is just how tacky it feels.

Am I completely wrong here?

No, pretty much agree, Nill. It should be noted that it is a big-budget game, but you're spot on with the incredible tackyness. The worst thing is - the official German forum is in ecstasy about the demo. Mention the horrible art, music and pseudo-funny lines, and they rip you a new one over there.

I played the demo for an hour or two last night. I won't be buying the full game.
Games like this should be fixed perspective like Baldur's Gate DA, Titan Quest and the forthcoming Diablo III, all of which use this perspective for a good reason, gameplay can be scripted and tweaked as the devs know exactly what the player will see at any time or place.

As a result of S2's rotatable screen gameplay in is hit 'n' miss. targetting and sticking to mobs is problematic, at least more so than it should be.

Agree with the 'tacky' feel, even sorta nineties look about it. The Seraphim char in the game looks just like the lass who was in PS1's Pandemonium

It's bangin'. Sacred was great, had some really good ideas. This looks like more of the same, but with 3D graphics.
