PC COD:WAW patch includes maps

Date likely to be announced this week.

Developer Treyarch has announced that PC fans will be given Call of Duty: World at War Map Pack 2 as part of the upcoming v1.5 patch.

"I just wanted to give a brief update to let you know that Map Pack 2 will be included in Patch 1.5," said developer "JD" on the official forum. "It's in test right now, and is looking great - I will have more information [this] week."

A rundown of the gameplay tweaks in patch v1.5 can also be found on those forums.

COD:WAW Map Pack 2 arrived for PS3 and Xbox 360 at the beginning of June. Inside are three maps - Banzai, Corrosion, Sub Pens - and extra co-op Nazi zombie scenario, Shi No Numa. The bundle cost approximately GBP 7 / EUR 10.

Pictures and details of Map Pack 2 are on the official WAW website.

so? half of the last DOW2 patches had maps in. Mysteries of Westgate for NWN2 was launched months ago. neither of these had news articles.

Yeah, but CoD: WaW is a shooter, sold a load of copies for whatever reason and it was a multiplatform game. Apparently that makes it liable to get more attention than any recent decent PC title out there... Sometimes I get the feeling the only unique PC content on EG consists of retro articles, reviews and scarce previews. Reviews from multiplatform games are featured on the PC portal even though the PC version isn't out yet and even if all versions were simultaneously released you can bet on it that there is no mention in the review of how it plays on PC. EG isn't alone in this as a multiplatform site but the PC coverage is pretty subpar compared to the IGN PC portal for example.

Also, Mysteries of Westgate wasn't free (it has yet to be reviewed on EG though). As for the lack of EG news pieces on the DoW II, Demigod, Empire, WiC patches... well, there's just no love for it apparently even though there was some great new content and improvements for those games in recent times.

This is why you DON'T BUY DLC!! DoW2 would have cost me £80 already had there been a console version :)
