Paramount revs Wheelman film engine News

Paramount Pictures is once more pushing to make to make a Wheelman film, which will star Vin Diesel and be directed by John Singleton (2 Fast 2 Furious, Boyz 'n the Hood), reports Variety.

The original plan was to launch the film alongside the game, which was released in March and picked up average reviews. This deal was largely down to Midway's former owner Sumner Redstone.

The Wheelman follows retired super-driver Milo Burik, who finds himself in the middle of a gang war in Barcelona trying to protect a woman from his past.

I was quite fond of the game, even to the point of happily S-ranking all 100+ side missions. Just, shame about the story, the characters, and pretty much everything else that could translate to a film.
