PAL New Releases Roundup - 26/06/09
Another week gone too soon.
The King of Pop is dead, but the world moves on, and a fresh batch of games shimmy onto shelves this week. And there are some goodies.
Overlord II arrives with an 8/10, like the original, but is a "distinct improvement" and should command the attention of newcomers and fans alike. Overlord: Dark Legends on Wii may also tickle your fancy.
Monster Hunter Freedom Unite roars into Europe after phenomenal success in Japan, with considerable backing from Capcom and Sony. MHFU has "MMO levels" of content, which is "completely unparalleled" on the PSP, we said. Those who invest the time will unlock an experience of "immense satisfaction and sense of achievement".
Fight Night jumps back into the ring for another, heartily recommended bout: "An intense, heart-rattling experience that gets more rewarding the more time you invest in learning the nuances," to be precise.
For specialist tastes we recommend ArmA II on PC or the personality-packed Tales of Vesperia JRPG on Xbox 360.
Spore expansion Galactic Adventures is decent, while Another Code R and Prinny: Can I Really Be the Hero? are average.
Dynasty Warriors 6: Empires, Superstar V8 Racing and Guitar Hero: Greatest Hits are worth a shout, although our opinion on those will have to wait.
Also note Fallout 3: Point Lookout, which is well worth investing in, and appears to have arrived with no technical hiccups.
Have a lovely weekend.
