I just hope this doesn't turn into another FarCry. Radiation mutated monsters and such are setting off my cheesy detectors!

The original premises of the game sounded great. I do not remember anything about monsters being mentioned until quite recently.

With all due respect, mr stiff but...:

It's bloody chernobyl. :-)

Not expecting monsters/mutations is the same as not expecting motorbikes in future GTA games.

Mutated monsters is what the original premise of the game was, it was known right from day one.
The problem Farcry has is that the mutated monster theme doesn't fitt the tropical island theme, making it all look a bit cheesy and forced.

but we were wondering what owners of GeForceFX or GF4 generation cards might miss out on?

Oii, my FX card is Dx 9.0 compatible, so what are you talking about? :-)

It is unclelou, but so far most games have dropped down from series 2.x shader to series 1.x shaders on geforcefx cards because it greatly increased speed.

Well, I know that (though I didn't want to hear it, git!), but, with all due respect to krudster, I am not sure it was meant that way. ;-)

"You have shadows cast through the alpha channel." As much as we'd love to know what that means, it's a lovely effect to see a slowly spinning fan cast entirely accurate shadows onto everything that comes into their path.

The alpha channel is a general CG/G term which denotes how transparent an object is, and/or just what parts of an object you want to show. For instance, if you have a red cube which had a checkerboard texture assigned to its alpha channel (only the white pixels are defined as solid), so you'd get a cube with red squares alternating with transparent squares.

It would appear mutation has occured on someone who just posted.

Looking forward to this, a free-roaming, do what you want type of FPS game is what the genre needs to inject some life into it.

"GSC isn't so confident."

So August 2006 then? Maybe they could have their source stolen, that seems to add a year or two...

Firstly, England didn't play football tonight.

Secondly, do you really think this is the best place to discuss it?
