Damnit, I've got a bad feeling about this. Maybe I've seen too many games overhyped by Edge previews, but I've been keeping my eye on this one for a while. But then, I'm not familiar with Blizzard so maybe they can take all those features and make them playable. If it fulfils even half of this promise I'll be picking up a copy.

Well, Blizzard make some good games (well, Warcraft and Starcraft were great at least - not a fan of Diablo, myself), and if they apply their usual level of polish and heavy testing, I can't see them going wrong anywhere. I seriously hope that he's not just PR-babbling about making it less frustrating than SC, because I just got peed off with that and gave up on it. I'm thoroughly looking forward to this and the graphics - WOW.

But I don't want to sneak about! I wanna just shoot'em!

Not likely to happen given that this is a completely different type of game to the originals. It's a third-person shooty thing, not an RTS.

hector, you ARE aware that his will be NO real time strategy game, right? Itīll definitely come out on PS2 and Xbox, but I donīt think any PC or GC releases are planned.

First of all, Blizzard is the dream company for gamers. What do I mean by that? They delay their games' release until THEY are sure the game is ready. Warcraft III got delayed for aeons and it wasn't because of administration problems. It was to make sure the product was good.

How many companies do you know that consistently delay their games until they are ready, instead of rushing them to the store?

Secondly, unlike EA Sports, each new game blizzard makes is indeed a whole new game and not just small comsetic changes that milk the product to the bones, like Age of Empires and ofcourse all the EA products.

Proof? Warcraft -> Warcraft II leaps and bounds of progress -> Starcraft even greater imrpvoements -> Warcraft III -> even more additions to the game

Thirdly, the expansions packs are probably the best kind of expansion pack one could wish for, especially for starcraft and warcraft III ! You buy it (yes, I buy it) without feeling it's a rip off.


To those who ask why is Blizzardf making Starcraft:Ghost and not Starcraft II.

Simple. It's looking to expand into other "fields". Sracraft Ghost is trying to get all the enthusiasts of that genre as well as the console players, while the World of Warcraft is trying to appeal to RPG fans.

I am sure, eventually, there will be a starcraft II :) If only more companies were like them. Yes, there are some other companies which are also great but some were bought by bigger firms and essentially disappeared :(
