Hmmm, that text in the second shot saying "Elite Orc Warrior" looks a lot like font used in Diablo...

I downloaded the ridiculous 'Technology Test' last week. It is 30mb and contains an intro movie, nothing more.

I am now downloading the 400mb demo. I hope it does more than play an mpeg.

Apparently the demo has about ten hours of gameplay in it.

The more annoyed [the shopkeeper] gets the higher his prices become, and eventually he may kick you out or call for the town guard.

I think I'll call my character otto.

This means that killing monsters with a large blunt instrument is not the only way to get past them and complete the game

No, I hear you can also use large SHARP instruments... Actually, that's my preference.

Hmmm.. I think I'll download that demo after all... bonusweb got it?

My extremly sharp wit also noticed that not only is the first letter of Diablo and Divine Divinity D but the second one in both is an i! Amazing, no?
It's nice to hear that it's more than just a Diablo clone since I just downloaded the demo (in 20 minutes, yay!) and I hate Diablo.

Khab, yes:

Thanks, pavs, I'd already found it! Curiously enough it's mind-numbingly slow for some reason (3.4 k/sec!) and I can't seem to find anyone else hosting the file... oh well.. only 30 hours and 19 minutes to go. Er.

That explains Max Payne. I wondered where the game went...

Well, I downloaded and installed it, don't know what to say though, maybe I downloaded the wrong one from 5 years ago or something.

Well my latest download speeds from my 56k modem are, um, anywhere between 800 bytes and 1.8k/sec.

So, I don't think I'll be downloading this demo, and I think I'm going to go and shout down the phone at my ISP. Looks good though.

Well I just downloaded it (only took an hour, smug smug) and after a *very* quick gander I think it looks quite nifty (name's still stupid though). Nifty enough to make me want to give it a longer going over tomorrow.

I *can't* get a good speed out of these for some reason... grumble... I'll just have to wait until GamesDomain posts it on their sunet.se mirror... I usually max out there... Bleh...

otto,

Completely of topic. But, I've just found some pictures of an early Judge Dredd game on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum.

Jo Body, thanks for the link, but I've already tried that one... besides, Fragland's server's bound to be in the US, meaning it's usually less than good speed to it from me (Sweden).

Thanks anyway, though!

Be PURE, be VIGILANT, BEHAVE!

lol!

lol, ob1 I didn't get this when you posted, now I've played the first 20 minutes I see where it comes from... Heh, a Belgian fantasy RPG with a reference to Nemesis the Warlock, who'd have thought?

Anyway, I take back that thing I said about it being nifty, it's POTENTIALLY nifty, but first they have to sort out that daft interface. Also, I'm no graphics whore, but they don't seem to have moved on from the original Fallout so some work needed there too I fear.

You eh? Tut. No, they got definitely got the spelling wrong. Actually I spotted many typos, also some odd phraseology, they'll need to do an edit before releasing it. This "take care" dialogue option, at first I thought it was the 'aggressive' option to start a fight until I realised it just meant 'goodbye'.

Eh? Well at first it came a bit out of context, first meeting with that healer guy, & the options were "oh cheers m8", "oh bugger off" and "take care" (which could have meant, say, "watch it or I'll slap you"). But then I saw it was the last option left after you'd exhausted all the others... And using it didn't result in a fist-fight, so... using my powers of deduction...
