LOL@ FeralUK....
You were joking right?
Annyway, I never bought this as the demo didn't really do it for me, it was alright, but seemed a little basic.

/awaits torrent of dismissive comments about "old" games from the same muppets who jump up and down with glee every time some nobody drops a rumour that a DVD9 hobbled version of MGS4 may limp over to the 360 one distant day.

Please no... MGS4 should be put out of its misery all together.

I could be wrong Hughes, but I think there's a slight difference between Overlord and MGS4 and the anticipation levels around them.
And like the guy above said, Overlord was never marked as one of the 360's exclusive killer apps was it?

because that's all MGS can do, limp. It's been copied and bettered by Splinter Cell in my opinion.

Glad to see one of the main criticisms of the XBox version has been addressed by having a mini map. Here's hoping for a Xbox map patch.

Splinter Cell, like Forza, and a good deal of other Bawks-based copy-tripe, is methodone substitution gaming for point missers, made by point missers.

Remove all the stuff that actually made the games they copied enjoyable, and the claim it's "purer" and "more hardcore", which is a not very secret code for "tedious".

I can see why it would be right up your "street".

That's the beauty of democracy: Even stupid opinions are allowed... :p

Couldn't care less about this game BTW but I guess there's nothing lost by it moving to PS3.

So the MGS series isn't tedious? And as far as your comment towards Forza goes, I'll just add you into the "PS3 for da winz" bin, because I don't know about the rest of you, but if I hit a wall in a car at 120mph I don't expect to bounce off it and continue on to win the race.

Anyway, my point being was that it's not exactly a major PS3 coup that they got Overlord is it? I hardly think too many people thought "Oh, wow, Overlord. That's amazing I'm buying a 360 just for that".

I just love provoking reactions :-P I just enjoy laughing at people on here that think their fanboyism is going to make Sony/M$ love them like their own child.

It's a games console, get over it.

The MGS series is frequently hilarious, your ignorance of this only serves to discredit your opinion. How many memorable moments has the SC series spawned? Any gamer who doesn't know what you mean when you say "Snake? SNAKE? SNAKE!!" would have to have had their head stuck in a bucket for 10 years. Anyone listening to the Codec conversations taking the piss out of Raiden's sexuality and implied cross-dressing predilections shouldn't be able to keep a straight face.

When I'm in hour 23 of a 24 hour race, and my car doesn't get destroyed when a careless AI driver sideswipes me into a barrier so I can go on and finish the race, I'm pretty glad that Polyphony know where to draw the line between enough-realism and finger-nailing pullingly dogmatic fun-destruction those who berate the GT series seem to constantly insist on. Your failure to appreciate this only shows how copmpletely you fit into the "point missing" category I described.

I'm sure lumping me into some arbitrary category in your brain is easier for you than reading and comprehending my words, though, and I'm not that bothered about this game either.

How's your day been? I'm about to have lunch and watch Doctor Who on UKTV drama. Probably take the dog for a walk then.

I often say that when questioning a gamer.....

And I'm not missing the point, I think you're missing the point. My point is that the gameplay of MGS was tedious. But then again so is SC. I'm not taking sides on this I just think you're missing the point of my point of your point.

So, it’s another game released late for the PS3 - that’s why it’s getting ALL the content - and is a good ‘test bed’ for the developer to get into writing PS3 games and making some extra money while they’re at it.

But no-one (sensible) is claiming that this is anything like a coup for the PS3. I think most people are just glad that a decent and underrated title is getting another chance at recognition.

With regard to your comments with Hughes about SC/MGS, I agree that both can be tedious, but MGS has more character and intricacies which I why I think it's far superior. Splinter Cell is too serious and straight-laced, whearas MGS isn't afraid of being self-deprecating and knowingly absurd.
