OpFlash Overwatch DLC released on 360
PC and PS3 to follow.
Codemasters has released a second bout of Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising DLC on Xbox 360.
Dubbed Overwatch, the new content costs 400 MSP (£3.40/€4.80) and adds two new modes and Fire Team Engagement missions. The same content is heading to PC (free) and PS3 (£3.19/€3.99) "shortly".
Anyway, those new modes are Supremacy and Blindside. The former has both teams rushing to control key strategical points such as gun emplacements and air strikes, while the latter involves the PLA completing objectives and the USMC defending against them.
The new Fire Team Engagement missions are Friendly Skies, an anti-aircraft heavy map, and Hostile Takeover, where PLA assailants need flushing out.
There are a couple of screenshots of Overwatch in our Operation Flashpoing: Dragon Rising gallery.

Such a shame, if they actually finished the single player, and did the mulitplayer to what people wanted this could of been so special!

The only thing that will improve the game DLC wise is the arrival of the editor on the consoles alongside a level upload facility.
Other than that, Codies have really slipped in my estimation of this game. Clearly rushed out to arrive pre-CoD when it could have stood alongside with a bit more work.

I am playing the original, GOTY edition, got it for under 6E. It runs nicely on my laptop, which is not high end (this is the reason I have not bought ARMA 2 instead), came with the latest patch and all.
I can only say, this old, very good felling is back. And I can assure you, that the graphics itself, which was not high end back then, is not so bad in comparison of PS3 port of Dragon Rising, especially the terrain textures.
PS.: If someone thinks, that this should or is intended to start another console war, I must point to a fact, that I own just a PS3 as my only gaming device (see my profile).
I was commenting against bad PS3 version of a game, not about PS3 (or XBOX360, to be totally clear!).
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

it does take patience, and some strategy and although I do agree it could have been better, I've been pleased with it, Its a lot different from most run and gun's...
The Problem I have is multiplayer, I was really looking forward to having a bit of co-op on this, so after finishing the campaign, i searched for online games...I brought up the all server list (remember its on a 360), and there where only 3 co-op games out of all these millions of gamers!
I went to get a brew before I started, refreshed the list.... and NOBODY was playing co-op / infiltration, etc..... out of "20 million xbox 360 users"... NOBODY (not a nat issue, etc. before you say....!)
Such a shame, as I Feel like I am missing a big part of the game, I think, with like minded gamers, the co-op on this could have been superb... It is just nobody else playing it......
I may even get the DLC, it's cheap enough, and I am sure it would have been free, if it wasnt for MS Charging policy on everything (MS even want to charge to have bbc iplayer on, which the bbc said no to)....
If they did another campaign set, I would buy it.....

An editor where you could upload maps (Far Cry 2) was the only way forward for DLC.

@Stroller4
Brilliant Idea about a map editor for consoles, (Ala Far Cry 2), I totally agree, It would really carve out a niche for this, Wish I knew about the MP though!
I think with a good map editor & perhaps a campaign creator too for consoles it really could come into its own..... Just like the way the original carved a niche' for itself.....

Just wait for ArmA2 to be properly patched... if that ever happens. And buy a new PC.

I did play it online in coop with a friend (which is why we both bought it), and it ran completely lag free every mission and it never dropped connection. For us, all the complaints about multiplayer were bizarre. In itself, it's not bad, just average, although the potential it had to be far more than the sum of its parts if they'd included the mission editor was massive - so only from that standpoint could I see why it's considered a poor game, because it's an underachiever after years of hype.

I agree that it doesn't make a good comparison piece at all by any stretch of the imagination.

Had you followd all the pre-release information that was given and read the back off the box you will find 80% of the game went missing.

Codemasters should stop making games and screw up legendary titles for the quick euro.
