Online Dynasty Warriors in February

Strikeforce has 4-player online co-op, more.

KOEI has announced that Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce (PS3/360) will be released in Europe on 16th February.

Strikeforce takes the Dynasty Warriors series online for the very first time. Four of you can either raid together co-operatively or bash each other competitively. There are even - in a Monster Hunter turn of events - dragons and "other massive beasts" to tackle together.

Voice and text chat are supported, and you can play offline with AI bots where your friends would normally be. Extra features exclusive to PS3 and 360 include 40 new missions, an enemy Hyperbreak gauge, combat tactics, new character "Meng Huo" and online officer trading.

Tecmo KOEI, as part of the company's new partnership, has also introduced Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 characters into Strikeforce. Complete each one's guest character challenge and you'll unlock their weapon of choice.

Strikeforce was released on PSP this summer and signalled a new lease of life for the Dynasty Warrior series. Head over to our Dynasty Warriors: Strikeforce review to find out more.

Excellent news. I'm a huge Warriors fan but was a tad disappointed DW6 didn't have any form of online mode. I'd love to get some online co-op on the go with this one, especially with the whole Monster Hunter style 4 against massive creature battles.

I am a tad disappointed though, the header "Online Dynasty Warriors" made me think it was the game Dynasty Warriors Online, which I've been really hoping would see a Euro release soon - I did sign up for the Japanese version and have played it a bit, but it's too text heavy to really enjoy it without knowing Japanese.

    Good stuff... me likey!!

They better not skip on dual-language audio. I didn't buy DW Gundam 2 because of it. English voice is just horrible(most of em anyway).

Online at last, about bloody time, can't wait for this. Surely Meng Huo isn't a new character though? He has been in all the Xbox versions I think.

I want to play as Ryu Hayabusa. Problem is: Too much else out. Same chategory: Bayonetta, Dantes Inferno, Darksiders.
Other: Bioshock 2, Mass effect 2, AvP, Dark Void and more.

This isn't Dynasty Warriors, in the traditional sense. From what I've seen of it, it looks more like a stupid party game. :(

It's not a party game, it's still Dynasty Warriors - it's just a bit more broken up into smaller areas, much like the Dynasty Warriors games on PSP, or Monster Hunter. It does feel a bit different, more like taking down small groups of elite guard than armies of peons, but it's stll unmistakably Dynasty Warriors :)

Excellent game, and easily the most difficult in the entire series. Some of these fights on the PSP version simply cannot be done solo, you NEED 4 players, but seeing as hardly anyone I know owns a PSP and Strikeforce I just wasn't going to complete some of those stages, but now I can take it online! Awesome stuff.

But yeah the Premise of the game is basically along the lines of Monster Hunter and Phantasy Star online/Universe in the sense that the game prmotes the idea of online play above a single play experience, and rightfully so, such an addition to the series is long overdue.
