Okami Wii 16:9/480p support confirmed
Feelings of joy and excitement.
Capcom has revealed that Okami will boast widescreen and progressive scan support on Wii.
Confirmation comes by way of the Capcom Store, which listed the sought-after 16:9 and 480p additions on the product specifications for the game. The PS2 original did not support these video modes.
The website also says that the title will be available in the US in March, a date Capcom bigwig Christian Svensson said was "possible" last week.
However, he has since restated that conversion developer Ready At Dawn is not being rushed, and Okami on Wii will be "done when it's ready".
"As you can see from my original blog entry about how Okami came to be, we started this project with RAD last April. Just because we didn't announce it until October, doesn't mean we started it in October," began Svensson.
"It's a 10 or 11 month project, and the budget on it is probably higher than three quarters of the games that have come out on Wii.
"Also, this 'IT HAS TO HIT XYZ DATE' and 'we're forcing it out' is bull. The game will be done when it's ready. We still don't have approved code, and changes and fixes are still being made. The knee-jerk fan boy reactions are off-the-chart silly," he added.
A European release date for Okami Wii is still up in the air, with Svensson confident there will be only a "little lag" between here and the US.

I dunno about you but I find 480p from the Wii looks great on my HD TV.
Saying that, I regularly play PS2 and Gamecube games with a much lower resolution than that without a problem.
As long as the story is good and visuals are not complete cack, anything is alright for me.
Then again, some people will be wanting the highest resolution, the most number of sound channels, the sharpest graphics ever just because then can. Seems a bit pointless to me.

If only every developer worked like this. Sure we'd have fewer titles, but they'd more than likely be better.
I'm looking at you KotOR II....

I bought a 46 inch Samsung and have been enjoying PS3 and 360 games/movies at 1080p...so yes, a little bit of a tech whore I admit - but playing the Wii at 480p is a bit like watching YouTube.
Combine that with the absence of Dolby Digital and the Wii A/V experience can be testing - besides the great plot, game mechanics or whatever.
It’s a comparison thing I think, but the main thing is this awesome game is Wii bound.

You do realize how retarded you just made yourself sound haven't you?
You do realize how few games actually run at 1080p? And certainly none of them on 360..
And the best 360 game (halo 3) doesn't even run at 720p..
So the considering you call yourself a "tech whore" the irony is lost on you...

Virtua Tennis was the first 1080p native game for the 360, and I don't really keep track of these things, but I'd expect that more games have followed.
The best game on 360... yeah, ok. If you even like FPSs.
More shite talk from the expert...
Anyway... glad that Ready At Dawn are on the case with this and it's bought as soon as I grab a US Wii.

most developers don't get the chance to work like that! in the vast majority of cases, if the publisher says it has to be out on a certain date, you don't get any flexibility. blame the publishers.

Since this is better than EVERY ps3/360 game to date. Then probably wait a price drop of 5 before buying a ps3 for Pro
