Offspring and others for Rock Band News

Xbox 360 News by Robert Purchese

8 October, 2008

Harmonix and MTV have added more downloadable songs for Rock Band, lead by spiky-haired Californian punk rock group The Offspring.

Its songs "Self Esteem", "Gone Away" and "Pretty Fly (For a White Guy)" will be available as a pack for 440 Microsoft Points (GBP 3.74 / EUR 5.28). Each can also be bought separately for 160 Microsoft Points (GBP 1.36 / EUR 1.92).

There's other tracks to buy, too. Top of the list is "All Right Now" by Free. That costs 160 Microsoft Points (GBP 1.36 / EUR 1.92), as do all the others: "Stop!" by Against Me, "Push It" by Static-X, "Nearly Lost You" by Screaming Trees, and "Cream and Bastards Rise" by George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

We expect these to show up on the PlayStation Store tomorrow.

Downloaded the Offspring ones last night, back in the day they were pretty good, Self Esteem and Gone Away are great! Pretty Fly for a White Guy will be good after a few beers, played it last night with my housemate, the cowbell bit in the middle had us laughing

"Cream and Bastards Rise" by George Thorogood and the Destroyers.

Shome mishtake, shurely?

All Right Now is pretty rubbish on guitar, but great fun as a vocal track.

Bad to the Bone by George Thorogood and the Destroyers.
"Cream and Bastards Rise" is quite a nice little track by some indie band who's name escapes me (but may well be on the press release you've inadvertantly messed up whilst retyping)

Garulon, it's by Harvey Danger.

Shame it wasn't Flagpole Sitta, otherwise known as the theme from Peep Show. :)

OHh, thanks for that. It's quite good. Bad to the Bone is really good though. Extra bonus points for HMX as your avatars in-band do this awesome little rock back-and-forth whilst it's playing.

Flagpole Sitta would be excellent. I Believe in a Thing Called Love by the Darkness would also be excellent. Where can I write angry notes to HMX about what they should include as DLC in dark red is-this-blood ink?
