Doesnt matter how good it looks if it plays the same!

The most overrated piece of shit game in the last decade, on the most overrated console (overrated by Sony anyway). Well, at least it's a good fit.

That looks a lot better than my 360 version.

and don't give me that gfx argument cr@p. I played Ultima VII the other week and was underwhelmed by the gfx and had to turn it off. Even the Lazarus thing was no good.

Doesn't look that much different to me, still has those very bare looking hills in the middle distance.

@Perrythegreat : If oblivion had even 1/100th the immersion/story/gameplay of ultima 7.. then it wouldnt be as shit.

I imagine that this is because of the neck cramp one gets from the weird perspective in that game, more than the actual graphic quality. I mean, there are visually less impressive games than UVII that I'd actually much rather look at.

TBH I can't see any difference from the 360 version...

I dont know it actually looks worse to me in some ways... I see alot more edges on some of the objects in those screens and to be honest even though theyve apparently added new shaders(because they have lots of time to improve the engine ontop of what they already did last year) in this build they dont look all around better either(and some of those textures look worse than I remember of the version 360 too). There will most likely be more jaggies and worse HDR along with longer loading times(the devs complained about the PS3s blueray drive speed, they had to use the GTA trick of putting everything on twice to help speed things up a bit... still going to have slower access time and longer loading times though) so to say it's coming a year after Id say the PS3 isn't looking too hot(unless you imported a faulty one from the US...).

As far as 360 is concerned maybe they will do something similar to what they did with Morrowind and release an updated Oblivion with all the improvements in there. Theres already going to be a huge expansion via Live("Shivering Isles"... 30hrs gameplay or double if you explore everything, the devs said the world here is 1/4 the size of Oblivion, I wonder what size this download will be?... Im guessing 2-3 GB) so its looking likely that PS3 fanboys will have nothing to boast about and longer loading times(and probably more slowdown... judging by the PS3s performance so far):

Well at the very least theyve had time to sort out the terrible LOD(that visable line where the renderer stops rendering objects at full detail when they are far enough away)/pop up which should have been sorted for the 360, perhaps they can do a patch via live once they are done with the new PS3 version?

    "terrible LOD"

...a close look at pics 3 and 5 seem to show that the detail in the middle and long distance is just as poor as the 360 version.

Oh well - it is a port so perhaps it's not the best place to look for teh awesome graphics. It's a nice game underneath.
