NWN2 gets downloadable add-on News

PC News by Robert Purchese

22 October, 2007

Atari has said that the first downloadable Adventure Pack for Neverwinter Nights 2 will be out before the end of the year.

It is called Mysteries of Westgate and is being created by Ossian Studios - the developer responsible for acclaimed NWN1 module Darkness over Daggerford.

The story is based around an ancient treasure that falls into your hands; one that will eventually lead you into a city-spanning war where you will have to decide which side to join.

Ossian says the new campaign should take around 15 hours to journey through, and will have various side quests to get distracted by on the way. It will also not be some slap-dash affair, and will feature a professionally recorded musical score and script, three new companions, new sewer tile set and plenty of new monsters to roll dice at.

Mysteries of Westgate and all upcoming Adventure Packs will require the original game to play, and will cost an as-yet unknown amount to download.

Neverwinter Nights 2 recently received its first boxed expansion pack, Mask of the Betrayer. It added epic levels, a new campaign and numerous other bits and fantasy bobs. Pop over to our Neverwinter Nights 2: Mask of the Betrayer review to find out why it put a well-earned smile on PC role-playing lips.

Oh, this is a surprise, they said that there would be no extra/premium modules for NWN2. I guess they changed their minds.

PLEASE can someone tell them to add a "stab party member in the face" or "murder party member in their sleep" feat in a DLC package? If I could do that I would have played through the original campaign.

I think you can kill all your party members in MotB. You can kill quite a few of them in the original campaign as well.
