Numblast, Punisher, topatoi on PSN

Plus Red Baron, Monster Hunter, more.

Sony has updated the PlayStation Store with several new downloadable games this week, including a pair of puzzle games and the latest take on The Punisher.

Numblast (GBP 3.99 / EUR 4.99) is the first of the puzzlers, in which you have to arrange numbers on a grid to set off chain reactions. Group four 1s in a square, for example, and they will count up before exploding, deleting any adjacent lines of matching numbers between 1 and 4 as they go. Don't worry - it's much easier to figure out when you're playing it, which you can do on either PS3 or PSP.

Next is topatoi: The Great Tree Story (GBP 7.99 / EUR 9.99), in which you control a "gyroscopic vehicle that looks like a whirligig" to overcome platform puzzles. There's also split-screen multiplayer and the promise of additional updates later. Check out the PlayStation blog for a few more details.

Next next, then, is Punisher: No Mercy (GBP 6.99 / EUR 7.99), a downloadable arena-based first-person shooter with an emphasis on online multiplayer for up to eight players, apparently.

There's also Red Baron Arcade (GBP 6.29 / EUR 7.99) to consider, for which there's also a free trial version. The full game consists of 20 historic World War I fighter planes going neeerrorooom, neeeeeeorrrrrmmmm and so on across 36 levels of single-player, or in eight-player online games.

What else? Well, there's James Pond 2: Codename Robocod (GBP 3.99 / EUR 4.99) for PSone, downloadable for either PS3 or PSP, and enemies of physical media can also grab Monster Hunter Freedom Unite (GBP 24.99 / EUR 39.99), Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (GBP 29.99 / EUR 39.99), Donkey Xote (GBP 7.99 / EUR 9.99) and Super Hind (GBP 15.99 / EUR 19.99) for PSP. As is traditional, anything you can pick up in the shops seems to be cheaper there rather than on PSN. Doh.

Finally, fans of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for PS3 can spend absolutely tons of money pointlessly unlocking marginal upgrades for their clubs and equipment, while MotorStorm: Pacific Rift's "Speed" expansion (three new tracks, among other things) is available for GBP 4.79 / EUR 5.99 and there are other DLC bundles for LittleBigPlanet, Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, and of course the music games.
