Novastrike and Commando 3 on PSN today News

PlayStation 3 News by Robert Purchese

5 June, 2008

Sony will be offering a one-two PSN punch of Novastrike and Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 today.

Both have been cemented for a USD 10 launch in the Land of Opportunity. That's America, where little mice go to find their fortune.

The European whereabouts of both will be known later, as we pick apart the weekly PSN update. However, you can always fake your nationality and pinch them from the US if neither makes it here.

Wolf of the Battlefield: Commando 3 is the isometric co-operative shooter that is much better than the other Capcom effort Rocketmen, and you'll be able to read our review any day now.

Novastrike, on the other hand, is the first game from developer Tiki. Studio boss Kevin McCann has said his favourite film is Jaws and his most cherished game of all time is DOOM.

Oh and his game is a top-down shooter where you can fly around as you please and blast waves of enemy planes as well as some ground targets. Your Scythe ship can be upgraded over time and it looks like it could be fun.

I really don't get why digtal content has to be put in trhe fridge for Europe. Like we care anymore in 2 months.

That said. PSN is looking better nowadays. At least it has some stuff on it, and C3 even before XBLA for a change (after PF2 they needed so make amends I guess:P)

Any news on when Commando 3 is out on XBLA? Saw a feature on the Live site about offering access to the Street Fighter beta with it ;-)

Aretak - "That'll be November then in Europe."

November... 2009 that is! ;)

Seriously though, does anyone know if Commando 3 is available as a trial or can it only be bought as a full game as seems to be the case with far too many PS3 PSN games of late? If there's a demo then I'll check it out later on.

Ouch, just found out that IGN gave Commando 3 just 5.9 in their review so it's not that good then... :?

I just tried buying something - Echochrome - on the US store for the first time last week, my Entropay virtual Visa worked like a charm.
I'm sure that will come in handy when WipEout HD is released on the US store (hopefully) this Summer, while we on the other hand are told my SCEE we'll have to wait until Spring - possibly Autumn - 2009 because of "localization issues" :).
