No word yet on Flower Euro price

But it's ten dollars in the US.

Sony has said that PSN title Flower will cost USD 9.99 when it's released in the US, but Sony UK has so far been unable to confirm pricing.

PSN prices vary between regions, but two recent releases that went out at 10 dollars in the US - Crash Commando and Söldner-X: Himmelsstürmer - sold for GBP 7.99 / EUR 9.99 when they came out here in late December.

Flower - developed by flOw's thatgamecompany - puts you in the, well, nothingness of the wind, which you use to direct flower petals around increasingly bleak environments restoring life and vibrancy to your surroundings.

We thought it was rather lovely when we had a wistful crack on it this time last week, and our full review will be up around the time of its 12th February release.

i like the synergy of visual and sound in this. having recently got back into Everyday Shooter, i'm hoping this can continue the trend successfully. wasn't too big on flow so i remain reserved on this.

ps. no more conversations on art and gaming, please!

Eay, $10 = £10. Currency convertion is super easy nowadays! Or more likely the same 7.99 as Soldner-X.

Looks interesting, but I'm not paying that for an artistic curiosity. A fiver is my limit for that - Linger in Shadows was great at it's price point.

"But it's ten dollars in the US."

    cue the traditional European Wallet-Rape.

don't so cynical. PSN's euro prices aren't all that bad. i was well chuffed with Wipeout HD.

hmm another tempting birthday release but I think Noby Noby Boy is more likely purchase.

This Thursday had BETTER deliver a good PSN update.

It has been aaggeess since I browsed the PlayStation store thinking 'oohhh!'.

Street Fighter II HD please, and Lumines Supernova too.
  • chessboxer #8 3 years ago

Fuck HD Remix until Capcom fix it and can release a bug free game.

Lumines Supernova won't be out for a while which is a shame. I read (somewhere - can't remember exactly) that it's due for a March release in the EU. It would be nice if Q Entertainment at least doubled the amount of skins in the game so that it matched Lumines II on the PSP.

My guess is £7.99 or £12.99

Hmm... £7 would be about right for the proper currency conversion, and may be around the upper limit of what I think I'd spend on this unless it turns out to be amazing. I'm very intrigued by the nice-experience-based gameplay idea, but it currently looks like the sort of game that you play for half an hour every couple of weeks, think it's lovely, then leave it for a while. When I compare the price to the many hours of fun I've had with Super Stardust HD I can't help but wonder how good a deal it will look.

Then again, it may turn out to have a hugely addictive flowing sense of gameplay. I'm still very interested because I love the idea, but I'm waiting for the review before I commit on this one.

    Edited to fix incorrect grammar.

I paid £3.49 for Flow and would expect to pay the same for Flower.

A penny more, and they will be welcome to bend me over and blow raspberrys on my taut buttocks.
  • dominalien #13 3 years ago

Well, if it IS art, then 8 and even 12 GBP is an absolute steal! ;-)

    @ rhubarbandcustard

Are your buttocks really taut? I see you as more of a fat wobbly arse type
  • smoison #15 3 years ago

5 Euros is my limit, too bad.

    Will have to wait.
  • ps3owner #16 3 years ago

if it's art then it should go up in value? maybe it's worth investing in this thing... everything else is going down the toilet. Toilet... hm, could be a good game for PSN release.

They are going to shake us Europeans for every last coin as if we were in a Wario commercial. No press will really stand up to their crazy mathematics, happily copying & pasting the whining about loosing $50 on every U.S. console sold while making $140 on every console sold in the Euro zone.

"Tad expensive for something you cannot try before you buy."

There's no trial version for every PSN game? That sucks.
  • kangarootoo #21 3 years ago

    @disc

I agree, its a failing of the PSN store that demos of PSN titles aren't the norm. It seems to be commonplace (if not universal) on XBLM.
  • canIdoyabombsforya #22 3 years ago

If the currency was back at its good level we would have been calling for £5, but they would have charged £7 not the actual currency rate. So I dont see any reason why it shouldnt still be £7, the cost of doing buisness in the UK is still the same. That was always the argument, anything higher is robbery.

By the time Euro SSFII Remix HD is out, SFIV will be out too, Capcom loses!... Infact i'd say SFIV will be out before HD remix!!!! Exactly, Capcom loses again to Europe...
  • chessboxer #24 3 years ago

Capcom have revealed that SCEE have blocked the EU release of HD Remix, TWICE, because Capcom have not fixed the various "faults and other problems". Capcom are redoing the game and will re-submit a new version within 3 weeks.

Just reading the Capcom forums should show anyone that there are problems with the game. I for one am happy that Capcom (or any other developer) are being forced to fix a game before they release it, rather than releasing a sack of shit only to leave us waiting weeks or months for a patch (I'm looking at you Bionic Commando: Rearmed).
