No Station Cash for SWG, Vanguard

SOE item sales stay in EverQuest 1 & 2.

Sony Online Entertainment boss John Smedley has told Massively that there are no plans to bring the Station Cash item sales just introduced to EverQuest and EverQuest II to SOE's other current games.

"According to Mr. Smedley they haven't even raised the issue of using Station Cash in Star Wars Galaxies with LucasArts, and at this time they don't have any plans to bring the service to their other titles," reports the Massively piece.

So Vanguard: Saga of Heroes, The Matrix Online, Planetside, Pirates of the Burning Sea and Star Wars Galaxies will remain free of micro-transactions for the foreseeable future.

Not so SOE's forthcoming games. Station Cash will play "a prominent role" in the free-to-play family MMO Free Realms, naturally, according to Massively. Smedley was apparently unwilling to go into detail on plans for The Agency and DC Universe Online, but Massively says it's likely to play some role in the PC and PS3 games.

    EQii's death knell hopefully.
I was round my neighbour's house last night and we had a look at the 'shop'
A potion to enhance crafting XP by a piddling 10% over 4 hours costs a staggering 8GDP. Yes. EIGHT QUID. I do hope no-one is daft enough to actually buy it, or the other ridiculously priced tat on 'offer'

And as usual GB becomes treasure Island in the eyes of SoE who are offering a laughable exhange rate compared to the US server.
US = $80 for 10,000 Stationcash points. The above potion btw is priced at 1000SC
UK = £80 for 10,000 Stationcash points. Dollar for Pound.

    Shocking barrow-boy tactics from SoE

Wait, the potion expires based on time, not XP earned?

Why not just call it "Potion of Unlubed Arse Raping" and be done with it?
