No StarCraft II beta until next year News

PC News by Oli Welsh

9 November, 2009

StarCraft II producer Chris Sigaty has confirmed that the game's beta test, promised for late 2009, has been pushed back to 2010.

Sigaty made the announcement during a presentation at Russian games expo IgroMir, according to Goha.ru and fansite StarCraft Legacy.

The latest word from Blizzard is that the game - or rather, first chapter Wings of Liberty - is due to be released in the second quarter of next year. Spring, in other words, between April and June.

The beta will introduce the ambitious new Battle.net as well as the game itself.

In case anybody is wondering what the reason is, Blizzard are politely waiting until my little kids have graduated and left home before releasing it so I have the time to play it properly.

If they're in beta by January or February there is no way in hell they can release the game in March or April, they'd still be polishing it based on feedback.
Expect a late summer release.

How long does it take to make a game?
This game is seriously out of date.

Maybe if Blizzard spent less time milking the shit outta WoW, we'd see a promt release of Starcraf II.

Due to be released? Since when do Blizzard games have release windows?

Activision influence? That didn't take long.
