"[We're] not planning any new content for Skate 1 ... We didn't want to go back and ask [people] for more money to get more shoes and shirts," Scott Blackwood told EGM. "That's not how we wanted to enter this market."

So Skate 2 is in development already then?

It's EA, and the game did pretty well so a sequel is inevitable

this is one of the few games i probably would have payed a couple of quid to get a few more competitions, multiplayer options and customisation thingies for. oh well i guess i'll be getting skate 2 if they don't break it.

[edit] this gen EA seem to be putting their huge coffers to very good use. some, not only nice looking games, but also pretty innovative titles.

I would have liked to have seen the camera it switches to when you get chased by security guards (perhaps abit lower) added as an option for the whole game, it would have been much easier to spot some different gaps with it.

Did that guy just say female characters are... features?! LOL
I doubt the lack of female characters in SKATE is due to any technical difficulty...

Maybe they could spend the time saved fixing the crappy website so you can see your own footage.

Oh and make the EA network more reliable while you're at it too.

I think even the producer said "It's EA, what do you think?" when asked if there was a chance of a sequel. :)

I wonder if this news will kill sales though?
Will you buy Skate knowing there's no DLC, something a lot of you have come to expect or just wait for Skate 2?

On the subject of SKATE, anyone had any success converting their FLV files into usable formats? I've downloaded several vids I've uploaded to my computer but they seem to have customized the FLVs enough that my tools won't convert them.

Great game. Up there as a contender for my GOTY. Hope the sequel fixes some of the inconsistencies in the control method. Very difficult to be as precise as some of the challanges need you to be.

Fantastic Game!

Very happy about the fact there is no extra's he's talking about (as in decks, shoes.... stuff that doesn't effect the game) but i was really hoping a company finally did something worth buying for a great game, like a whole new set of tasks or whole new mulitplayer modes.

Skate was fantastic, and i agree with the guy who said GOTY contender (for me anyway, we all know what piece of rubbish will actually win it) but IMO at least it was abit short, but still worth every penny.

If they are all this good and keep getting better then i hope this runs aslong as the TH series!
