No More Heroes series finished with Wii
Future games "need a new platform".
Goichi Suda reckons No More Heroes has the potential to become a "big franchise", but he believes he's taken the series as far as he can on Nintendo Wii.
"I really want to make NMH a big franchise, and with this second episode have bigger success. I'm putting a lot of care into developing this IP, as I feel there's a lot of potential," Suda told Edge in its latest issue (thanks MTV).
"I think this is the last NMH that is going to be developed on Wii. To expand NMH to new possibilities, we need a new platform. Wii is a great platform, but we've done everything we can with it now."
Desperate Struggle is due out later this year, and was unveiled around the time of the Tokyo Game Show last year, when we spoke to Suda about its development.

The more NMH the better I say.

I was thinking the same thing - and since when did EG need MTV to let them know about the content of a magazine interview that can be picked up in Smiths?

He's right though, there's too much fun to be had with Travis and Co to let this disappear as one of those lost treasures.

I don't think we can unanimously claim it bombed, sure it didn't sell millions to the point that it's staying Wii exclusive, but it sold enough to warrant a sequel.

While it's a shame that it's leaving the Wii, the developers have had two good goes at it, and if it doesn't sell this time around then there's just no market for it on that console. But to me it's the kind of cult game that might do well on the other consoles, who will have motion controls by that time. I'll be shrugging my shoulders and saying fair do's, thanks for two good games, can we still be friends?
