No More Heroes 2 dated for April

Rising Star hoping for a Touchdown.

Rising Star Games has announced an end of April release date for Wii game No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle.

This is Grasshopper's follow-up to, er, No More Heroes - a quirky, stand-out action game designed by Suda 51, who conducts interviews 'on the bog'.

No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle will repeat the openworld assassin-versus-assassin formula as protagonist Travis Touchdown must duel his way from bottom of the United Assassins Association ranking to the top.

There'll be a new story and a fresh cast, and Touchdown will be able to dual-wield Beam Katanas this time.

Suda's said No More Heroes 2 will be a last hoorah for the series on Wii, as future instalments need new hardware and, more than likely, a new audience. That's both a shame and a delight.

We'll be reviewing No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle on import very soon wink nudge.

Just how did toilet-fan Suda 51 come up with a strapline like Desperate Struggle?

So, two of my most anticipated games of the year - this and Red Dead Redemption - coming out on what looks to be the exact same date... damn.

Oh yeah, I'm really looking forward to this. It looks like they've chopped off the crap off the first one and made the good stuff better. Lets just hope the European version of Desperate Struggle has blood.

Damn straight. Amazing stuff; I have no doubt.

looking forward to this, last i heard there were 2 different rated versions coming out, one with gore and one without?

Two months after the US release? Two MONTHS? What the fuck? Is this the Middle Ages again?

Any word on how this business of releasing both the censored/uncensored versions of the game is going to work out? From looking over RS's forums all I see is them being very cagey on releasing any actual information on this.

Most likely we'll just get the censored version again under the pretext that it is the "original vision" of the game.

    Surprise me Rising Star.

OK kids. Dont shout at me, but I imported this too (I love you Canada).

It's probably one of the best games ever released on the Wii that can stand up to a lot of 360 and PS3 games, yet an absolutely crushing disappointment at the same time.

    Think Icarus.

Now, if they fix some of my groans about the US version and dont censor it. I think I will double dip...

Same month as monster hunter 3 though. Which I believe will be a better game (and better value for money). Problem with some of these mature games on wii is they don't offer value for money. I bought dead space extraction and paid full price not waiting for it to drop to £15 (play.com for all that are curious) and feel that although I enjoyed it there was not the VFM there that gears of war 2 or even batman arkum offered

NMH2 is not massively long but its around 10-12 hours on your first playthrough and you will really need to do a second playthrough to take it all in and find most of the bonus stuff. It will give a lot of people a good length.

    @Kon

I got a promo email for this from Rising star games this morning.

The tag line they used is "He's back. And bloody"

So it sounds like we're getting the blood filled version this time.
  • RobotRocker #16 2 years ago

Is that why they call you RobotRocker?

    Y'know it ;P

NMH2 will give people a good length anyway. Two words. Downward Dog. Trust me, you will be laughing every time you hear those words after playing this game.

That is a good omen. Thanks for letting me know.

12 hours is respectable, pretty standard these day's. I take there are no leader boards though ? Just wish it wasn't coming out at the same time as monster hunter 3 as there is only one winner for me and by the time I buy it, the price would have dropped. Good for me not for rising star who I love for bringing little kings story to the UK thank you rising star.

Oh, it is an issue! It takes away a lot of the games identity if it's censored. The first one was ruined by flying coins and notes. It was still great, but ruined.

Imagine Killer 7 without the blood. That to would make NO sense.

    Bring it uncensored!

Does anyone know if the import version works with the HD loader?

    1. The disc runs through Gecko OS so there is no need to stick it on a HD Loader. Load times are pretty snappy anyway
    2. You are better off waiting it out. The US version has a lot of fixable issues that might get redone in the PAL version.

    It's official!

    We get the bloddy edition!
