It's a shame, but completely understandable. After all the care and attention lavished on the game (hey, I loved them both), you'd expect them to do Saints Row numbers. Instead? Ah well.

Translation - they both failed to meet sales expectations and their licence was for two games based on the franchise.

Although maybe his comment on licences not being a big deal has some truth; EA don't seem too bothered about getting movie licences and so on any more. Leave that to ActiBlizz and Ubisoft.

Well for a game that it's sequel sold only 250K units, i dont find a reason why they would wanna go on and make a third one.. It was a pretty bad one indeed..

If you make a bad game, it won't sell. Period. That is independent of whether it's a licensed property or not. Instead of admitting that they should have made a better game, they choose to say that licensed games don't work. Brilliant.

That's because the third movie wasn't as good as the first two. So the movie wouldn't make justice to the game ;)

Didn't Shaun White Snowboarding sell 3 million copies? - and the abhorred PS360 version made up around half that.

I liked the first two godfathers a lot.

I think people bashing them probably haven't even played them- they are solid games, the second one was actually a really good crime syndicate simulator, and was more an action-rpg than anything else.

Countfapula speaks the truth. I played Godfather on xbox and 360, completed Godfather II a couple of weeks ago and loved all of them.
