No Mercenaries 2 for a few months
EA rules out February release.
Electronic Arts has told Eurogamer that we will see nothing on Mercenaries 2 "within the next few months".
It confirms speculation from retailers and lack of advertising that the title will not make its currently scheduled 8th February release.
No reason for the delay was given, although Pandemic boss Josh Resnick reassured us last year that Mercenaries 2 would not be rushed to meet a release date - after moving it out of the Christmas line-up.
Back then bug-swatting and extra polish were named as the culprits behind the hold-up.
Mercenaries 2 is in development for PS3, 360, PC and PS2.

If they are all being handled by the same developer, instead of outsourcing the PStwo build, what are the chances of the next-gen builds being nothing more than last-gen buff up jobs?

money. there are a lot of ps2s out there.
the ps2 version is also being developed alongside but independantly of the current gen (see what i've done there) versions. it's the one being scaled back rather than the others buffed up.
