No Fat Princess this week after all News

PlayStation 3 News by Ellie Gibson

22 June, 2009

So much for that "late June" release date for Fat Princess - looks like the game won't be out this month after all.

"Fat Princess will have a global release date, but I can confirm for you it will not be next week I'm afraid," wrote Sony's Mike Kebby on the PlayStation blog.

"The game is coming at some point this summer, but there is no confirmed release date at the moment."

Fat Princess, you may recall, is a PlayStation Network title revolving around combat, strategy, resource management and cake. Read our hands-on preview for the full lowdown.

Game seemed a bit lame to me - played the BETA.

Just because it's called "Fat Princess" doesn't automatically make it good.

TheRook21 - just because you put a ":P" at the end of your post doesn't automatically prevent me from plucking out your eyeballs with BIC Biro.

I could not care less if this was called Squee's tropical island adventure part deux. The game looks very promising and i can not wait to play it.It is unfortunate that it is not gong to be released this week, however it hopefully means that they are using the time to make it better.

Glad people who have the urge for random BIC related violence are not going to get this game. BIC Related trash talk upsets me.

Really looking forward to this, but I don't have much money to buy it at the moment anyway. Will also need to buy a mic when it's out, I suspect.

I reckon it is going to be around £12.99. Perhaps £15 depending on how many maps/ gameplay modes.

Also, if anyone's looking for some cheap headsets:

Just sounds better than a Sainsburys Basics ballpoint pen.

I like Papermate. Very expensive though. I always try to pinch them from workplaces and so on when I get the chance.

@ reelbigkris - have you used that headset, and is it any good? I do need one, but I'm on quite a budget at the moment.

@triggerhappytel - I managed to get my headset with my copy of warhawk. The link i posted is from the same company (JABRA) who made the warhawk one and my friend uses the mic in the link online when we play games. I can hear him perfectly clear and setting it up is easy. I have got three different headsets (i keep losing the things!) and my Jabra one is my favorite one.

I have got the official Sony headset but unfortunately it is uncomfortable and for some bizarre reason i can not adjust the volume of my microphone and therefore can be occasionally difficult to hear me (As i have a US Sony headset, perhaps there are compatibility issues with regions, you may not have this problem). But the Jabra one is cheap, reliable and comfortable. It's about £8 and it is money well spent.
