No Doubt songs added to GH3

Up now on Live.

Activision has popped a trio of No Doubt songs onto Xbox Live.

They are Don't Speak, Excuse Me Mr and Sunday Morning. The bundle will cost you 500 Points (GBP 4.25 / EUR 6.00).

We assume these are up on the PS3 Store as well, but we have no way of checking, and Sony is yet to send its weekly update list to us. Help.

No Doubt started life in 1986 as a rock band in California, but only really hit headlines in 1996 with Don't Speak.

The band went on hiatus in 2004 so frontwoman Gwen Stefani could pursue her solo dreams. She's done all right. Apparently the band is reforming this year to record and release an album. [What is this, SmashHitsgamer? - Dep Ed]

I remember seeing No Doubt supporting RHCP for their supposed last ever gig at Wembley Arena... "Hello Edinburg" is what she said when coming on stage...

I loved Sunday Morning at the time. Shame I only have the PS2 version of GH3.

If Just A Girl was there I'd buy it.

Why do they keep releasing crap like this?

I want tunes with proper guitar solos from artists like "The Kings Of Leon", "Nirvana", "Feeder", "GreenDay" & more "Red Hot Chili Peppers". Also some proper tunes from artists they've already done, "Numb" by "Linkin Park" is a much better tune than "No More Sorrow" for instance.

And whats wrong with some classics, "Hotel California" by "The Eagles" or "Don't Stop Me Now" by "Queen".

THE GAME IS CALLED GUITAR HERO, NOT POP IDOL!!!!!

Sort it out, and sort it out now!!!!!

Agree with you KingCole; sick of looking over the pond at the tracks on Rock Band, especially when we get guff like this. 'No Doubt' someone will buy and enjoy it, though.

    slow news day?

anyway no doubt started out as ska not rock
  • wa_uk #8 4 years ago

i thought it was called ROCK band, not PAP band. okay, xo OldK1ngCole beat me to it, but seriously, come on.

what's next, 'where is the love?'? 'love is all around'? 'spice up your life'?

[another edit] - ok, fair enough. some people like no doubt. all i'm saying is i believe their music is painfully lightweight and hardly suited to GH3. Also, i got confused and thought we were talking about rock band, but that's because i'm obviously an idiot, and thus nobody should listen to me anyway. finally, i realise that chart success doesn't automatically mean something is pop trash and never said otherwise.

I'm waiting for The Carpenters pack
  • L0cky #10 4 years ago

Uhm, comparing No Doubt to the Spice Girls is a bit off the mark.

They have fairly decent Ska Punk roots, produce their own material, and perform live. Having a #1 single in the charts for a few weeks doesn't automatically make you pop trash.

If ever there was a case for implants, Stefani is it.

The GH franchise is making some scary decisions.
  • miiiguel #13 4 years ago

One shouldn't assume #1 in charts = crap; which is not always true, as in this case, imho, they're not total trash (see, see? a Sonic Youth reference! lol).

Anyway, Sony continues to show they couldn't care less about Euroland aka Sony bitches, that's what we are.

Fucking hell, i need GH3, Don't speak is my second favourite song (after bullet with butterfly wings from the pumpkins)

Also, what the hell is wrong with people? Alternative rock is awesome and relaxing. Think half of you are just teenagers harking back to your dads bands or loving what NME decree is rock for this week. Is there spirit in music these days?

I'd like some more proper hero stuff too... but not Nirvana. Like listening to it - but crap to play to.

I want: Little Wing, Won't Get Fooled Again, Whiskey in the Jar, and while I'm at it, that one from Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds that goes... Naah nah nah nah naaaaaah, nah nah nah nah neeeeeee naaaaaaaah. Diddle didle didle da da da dee da dee da de da daaaaa etc. Mars and such.

OldK1ngCole, everything you mentioned except for maybe RHCP would be really dull to play in GH and those bands don't have any decent solos. Heart Shaped Box for an example is a good song to listen to but dull as hell to play on GH2.

No Doubt? Not really my cup of tea. I'd consider downloading some songs for GH3 if they weren't shoehorned into these crappy packs. For example, I may be tempted to download Don't Speak for a euro or something. But one mediocre song and 2 songs I've never heard of for 6 euro? They're havin' a laugh surely?

@ Nige - great choice of songs there - now I'd definitely buy them in a pack for 6 euro.
  • Sir_TimAlot #18 4 years ago

Haha, I've just downloaded the NIN pack for Rock band for $6 i think i will stick with that over No Doubt. Rock Band well worth the stupid amount of money i paid for it.

No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom album was great. Largely ignored now due to their nasty last album and completely wank solo guff spewed out by Gwen nowadays.
  • SentientNr6 #20 4 years ago

    @Zomoniac
indeed. When I heard that song I was an instant fan, till I bought their album which sucks.
  • zoidberg #21 4 years ago

Not the best of songs and really pricey.
  • Beano #22 4 years ago

Who cares ... I just want to know when Rock Band is coming out in Europe!

    +1

Used to love No doubt before Gwen sold out.

Regarding the article, its a shame i bought the ps2 version of the game as it seems that im missing out on some really cool additional content, regardless of how pricey it is. And before someone chimes in with the obligatory "L2P a real guitar noob!!1!" [sic] - i can play all of these songs on a real guitar ;)

I just really like GH, that's all :)

  • Fwing #24 4 years ago

To be fair No Doubt's music has always been ok but Stefani is and has always been an annoying cow with a stupid dance.
  • Zomoniac #25 4 years ago

Please tell me you're trolling. Which Feeder songs have guitar solos? Although Holiday would make a good song in the first block or two, and All Around The World would be good.

Personal requests for new DLC: Radiohead - Paranoid Android, SOAD - BYOB, Del Amitri - Start With Me, U2 - New Years Day, RATM - Know Your Enemy, DatD - Layla, Incubus - Megalomaniac, Jeff Buckley - So Real, Led Zep - Black Dog, Queen - Death on Two Legs, Smashing Pumpkins - Ode To No One, Tenacious D - Tribute, Fleetwood Mac - The Chain (just the last minute will do).
