Nintendo unveils Christmas DS bundles
White, black, red, pink or blue, sir?
Nintendo has unveiled a new range of DS hardware bundles designed to empty Santa's pockets this Christmas.
For GBP 120, he'll be able to pick up a white or black DS with a copy of Brain Training. The red DS will come bundled with Big Brain Academy for the same price.
An extra tenner is required for the pink DS bundle, which includes a copy of Nintendogs: Labrador and Friends. The blue DS package is also GBP 130, but comes with Cooking Guide: Can't Decide What to Eat?
"So whether it's a gift for a dog lover," reads the press release, "someone who gets pleasure from their brains being trained or a fanatic of classic gaming, Nintendo have something to suit everyone's tastes!" Except if you're into hardcore pornography obviously.
All the bundles will be available in the UK from October.

You think so? How come the situation on the Wii is exactly the same although a lot less people are "backing up" their stuff there?

Yes, Nintendo are perfectly able to do this, it's still selling and that's all they need it to do, but these bundles are pointless and just miss the point of being a bundle...

that said Physically Insane, EVERY company in the world cares about its shareholders above all else and if Ninty can shift these 'bundles' like hot cakes even if they are poor value, all the better for their share price.

Agree. Also, I think even a Zelda bundle would sell less than a Brain Training bundle. The Brain Training games are system sellers for a much larger market than Zelda is, so it's an obvious choice for a bundle. Nintendogs should sell very well too (even though the game is old, there's a constant influx of younger gamers to get a first handheld system for). I'm not so sure about Cooking Guide though. =P
