Nintendo teases Tingle DS game News

DS News by Tom Bramwell

15 June, 2009

Nintendo appears to be working on a new DS game based on The Legend of Zelda's very own Jar Jar Binks, Tingle.

The jolly little man figures prominently on a Japanese teaser site (thanks Kotaku), following a separate Famitsu tease that mentioned the DS.

The site points to a trailer release on 18th June (this Thursday), although not much else is clear.

For those who have never encountered Tingle, he's a man who's obsessed with fairies, who first appeared in Majora's Mask and then reappeared in The Minish Cap and other Zelda titles.

He also had his very own game, Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland, which came out in Japan and Europe.

Presumably we'll see an announcement later this week.

What, no comments? Is everyone afraid to get their posts marked down for fanboyism?

Freshly-Picked Tingle's Rosy Rupeeland was a refreshingly (weird) take on the Zelda franchise and made Tingle almost loveable.

More Tingle I say!

!YES! Rupeeland is still a standout DS title for me. Sure, it had it's flaws, but the crazy Japanese weirdness gave it an edge rarely seen nowadays

I think he's more Nintendo's Watto than Jar Jar Binks, because NO-ONE likes Jar Jar Binks and quite a few people like Watto.

And yeah, despite a control scheme designed by madmen and a quite ludicrously unforgiving bargaining mechanic, Rosy Rupeeland was a bit of a miniature gem.
